Totally agree, the owners should start making a push to have all player contracts at least half incentive based.

So what is a player that stays hurt worth? He definitely don’t deserve 20 million a year I’d put him on a prove it deal or cut him that would be my options for Michael Thomas.

I can't see him making it through more than a few games.

That's great IF HE STAYS HEALTHY. If you don't play, it doesn't matter if you're Randy Moss.

He’s bought in when things are good. If they aren’t he’ll claim he’s hurt the day after the trade deadline like he has the last two seasons.

What is the cap impact to keep him. What is the cap impact to cut him?

That's the question.

You can't look at this situation in a vacuum.

The year he got "Paid" he had 125 rec. for 1405 yds. 9 tds. Made the pro bowl and all pro.
The year "After" he got "Paid" he set the single season reception record with 149 receptions for 1725 yds. 9 tds.
pro bowl all pro and Offensive player of the year. Then he was injured. He made a bad decision about rehab and then he had a botched surgery. Everything else is just bull shite without any proof.

I think it was both that he was injured and that he was being a bitch.

That said, people acting like Michael Thomas is just some expendable player are full of shite. If we can get a real buy-in from Thomas he can be a 70-80+ catch guy with Carr and open up a lot of things for Olave, Shaheed, Johnson, Kamara when he returns, and whichever RB we draft. He's not washed or anything I don't think, it's just that he hasn't really cared as much as he should have.

I have been one of the biggest MT13 critics lately, however, with Carr signing and the apparent openness of Thomas to re do his contract I think it makes the most sense for both parties to find a way to have him on the team at a much more cap friendly contract.

Thomas has made it no secret that he likes the signing of Carr and the fact that he's open to contract talks says he's not closed the door to returning. The big hurdle will be his openness/criticism about the Saints training staff. How much of that was legitimate and how much of that was MT being disgruntled about the QB situation we'll find out, but a healthy motivated MT13 is a great weapon to have.

The Saints are going to be paying for Thomas for a few years more whether or not he's on the team so they might as well get as much out of him as they can. Friday the 17th is the magic date. That 32 million dollar 2024 roster bonus is not going to become guaranteed.

Why do Saints fan hate Michael Thomas so much? I don’t get it.

It all started when Michael Thomas began the Drew Brees character assassination after the national anthem blowback and then the hate just grew when he caught the injury bug after getting paid.

No team will pay him more than the Saints will. He’s staying, unfortunately.

There have been a lot of former players very vocal about the Saints training staffs. It's not as bad as some teams (apparently in KC you get treated like shite for saying you're injured to the point that players hide injuries), but the team has a long history of players being misdiagnosed, rushed back from injury, rehab taking a lot longer than expected... They keep changing the medical teams every few years, but all the Drs keep coming from Ochsner.

nope, he will be cut, then he will sign with another team for less than the saints offered him because its his only option and he is too much of a selfish bitch to restructure at a reasonable price since he hasnt played for nearly 3 years
