I think we struck gold with AT Perry

Won’t be at all shocked if ends up as the WR3 ahead of Shaheed by the middle of the season. I watched him play several time at Wake Forest. He was Sam Hatman’s go to guy. Long and athletic that high points the ball well and has deceptive speed. Most of all he’s clearly got a chip on his shoulder from being passed over by so many teams. I think he’s going to be a factor in short order for this team.

Have read some of the reports from training camp and he's been quiet up until today.
Have not read them all so could be wrong.
But maybe he is more of a gamer than practice guy which is fine with me.

I think Shaheed brings a speed and quickness dynamic that the WR corps really needs. AT Perry is more of a MT type player.

I’m glad he looked good today.
However, Shaheed has a role as a deep threat in this offense. Perry seems more like a big, possession-type receiver.

Perry will be a nice fill in for MTs inevitable absense

Then again its MT.
Really hope not though.

I remember the warm and fuzzies I got when a 7th round random pick from Hofstra ended up being a straight stud …
Hope that happens again.

More like the seam role that Graham and colston lived in. We haven't had that threat in a decade

I doubt he climbs that high, Shaheed has game breaking ability. Think he’s a lick as the number 3 this year.

He will not be passing shaheed.

Shaheed is always going to have his role as deep threat and reverse guy to get his speed in play but I won’t be stunned if they actually involve Perry in the offense more. He’s a big target which helps a lot. I love Shaheed I’m not knocking him at all, I just know this rookie can play. Tre’Quan Smith’s time is finally done.

Shaheed and Perry are both going to be very important players the next few years. Talented and cost effective.

That's the best thing about them. Cheap as hell for the next 3-4 years
Perry is on the 1st year of a 4-year rookie contract
Shaheed is on the last year of his rookie contract, then he's an ERFA, then he'll be a RFA

I think Perry is what we hoped Trequan would be.

^^This! Even in his Wake Forest days and again yesterday you see him high point and make the aggressive catch with his hands. And he seems to be pretty darn fluid for a rookie 6th rd pick. Very encouraging.

You are underselling Shaheed. He is way more than just a speed guy. His route running and hands are weapons.
Just watch what he does this year if he stays healthy.

If he keeps it up I hope we can offer him an extension during the year.

It would be smart to get him locked up early.
Having him and olave is a great start to a future at wideout.
