I imagine the "Russell Wilson wants to play in NOLA" angle is no longer around

Can't imagine he'd ok a trade to a Payton-less New Orleans

Yeah i think Payton retiring closes the door on Wilson or Rodgers.

I'm okay with rebuilding and not spending the assets to chase someone like Wilson or Rodgers.

Probably our inability to get one of them is what opened the door to him leaving.

yep, we just became the Pelicans of the NFL. We were attractive because of Sean. Now we’re the Pels.

You can forget about Wilson, Rodgers, Brady, Bart Starr, Joe Namath or any other legitimate QB wanting to come to this mess.

I'm sure we haven't really "tried" yet. If that is a factor at all, Loomis probably told him it would be a real possibility.

I think he's just tired.

Yeah, the whole Russ to New Orleans angle was always predicated on him wanting to play for Payton.

Yep... hell we might not even be able to get Winston to come back at this point

We don't need to rebuild

We just don't need to kick the can down the road. Take the cap hits this year. Let the bree's and armstead money hit this year.

I disagree, I don't think Payton felt that he needed Wilson or Rodgers. You could see just how much he cared about and was rooting for Winston. Payton was devastated when Winston went down with injury after performing well and changing his image and maturing. Payton even said he was emotional after that Bucs with Jamies on hearing the news that he was done for the year

I don't think this angle makes Russ more likely to come to Seattle 2.0.

What about this team other than QB makes you think we're in for a rebuild?
