I think it is now time to move on from Loomis. Let him out gracefully, or whatever, but make the move now so the replacement hunt can begin.

Loomis was really good during the Payton era and was a big part of the success, but that is in the past. Loomis is continuing to live in that past instead of reinventing how to develop the next era and the inconsistency being seen on the field is on Loomis at this point.

Dennis Allen was a good hire. He has been a top DC and he deserved the opportunity continue with his defense.

The inconsistency seen on the field now is on Loomis. Its his desire to want to please and reward everyone that was part of the past, with a part of the future. This is mistake number 1. The offense was not good the last few years under Payton so there was no reason to want to continue on that side of the ball.
Mistake number 2 was continuing to live in cap hell and double down on it. Take the pill for a year or two and get back right with the cap. This could have been done with the same W-L results. Mistake number 3, signing Carr to an unfriendly team deal. Carr had plenty of games to prove he is who he is. It was foolish to think he could be coached better in NOLA without a strong proven OC. Now the team is backed into a corner with a QB cap with nothing to show for it going forward. Carr was an unforced error that is worthy of losing a job over. Mistake number 4, Michael Thomas. Taking up a roster spot for 4 years now ? with no productivity. Has not been productive since he got his payday.

Mistake number 5. This team is reverting back to paying players that do not produce. If this trend does not stop Players and agents will again start using the saints as a final contract destination for players that do not play.

His job is to make money for the owner. We knew he went the safe easy route post Drew Brees. The dynamic between he and Gayle is the great unknown going forward.

Allen was not going to stay around and be DC under another HC brought from outside. So who were you going to hire as HC, DC, and OC? The mistake was not preventing Allen from making the same mistakes he made at Oakland. If you give Allen a real OC that is even just decent, this is a team with a winning record.

Allen has not made in game decisions that have cost the team a win. His defense is still in the upper echelon of the league. One side of the ball is killing this team.

Somebody. Anybody but Dennis Allen. That's who I'd hire.

If Allen and Carmichael are still here next year I’m not gonna do anything about it but will bitch a hell of a lot more.

Loomis got lucky with the Payton hire and the Brees pick-up. He was average at best before that and he’s shitting the bed now.

The Saints records drive it. Please compare the first 30 years to the last 20?

But you have to put out facts festor so we can compare apples to apples .

Loser mentality

The Tampa fricking Bay franchise has two SuperBowl wins

You can keep sucking on that winning % dick

And forget the 7-9 seasons

Coach with a philosophy have a direction they're moving. Dennis Allen does not, nor will ever have one!

He is an overrated clown who never shows up to games prepared. Gets schooled by scrub, athletic QBs time and time again

Here’s why I agree with you. Payton adapted and admitted what he did from 06-13 wasn’t going to work anymore after the three 7-9 seasons and changed things which led to our run in 2017-2020.

Loomis hasn’t had to take a long hard look at himself and adapt. He made the Ireland hire but I don’t think he thought HE needed to change. He thought THEY needed better scouting. The process he had from 06-13 was a huge success. He made a slight tweak and made us competitive in 2017-2020. But he hasn’t admitted to making some huge mistakes during 2021-now. He’s gonna get another year or two before he’s on the hot seat, unfortunately.

The one silver lining is that if they stick with DA even if they miss the playoffs, I think it’s a realistic possibility they move Mickey higher up in the organization and replace him with Ireland once DA is inevitably fired. Don’t know if that improves us or keeps us with the same stupid decisions but it would at least give someone else a shot
