Heard reports the Saints might release Tyrann. LMAO Derek Carr Worst FA of all time

Tyrann isn’t that expensive and is a Louisiana icon. Carr is a proven loser making $40 million/year
So we sign unlikable clowns and release our hometown heroes, all to go 7-10 and prevent us from getting our QB of the future in the draft.
Derek Carr is the worst free agent signing in the history of Saints football, and there have been some bad ones.
As someone who does cleats for many guys on the team, if this happens I’m done rooting for this poverty franchise.

Both are trash but I'd think Carr can at least do SOMETHING compared to Tyrann. Carr at least looked good in his 1st two games last year. Your thinking is about on par with Loomis....let's just give Tyrann a guaranteed lifetime contract because he is a Louisiana icon whatever the frick that means.

Way to date yourself.
If you honestly believe this my guess is you know zero history of the New Orleans Saints prior to 2006. Probably more like 2009.
lol. But I get the frustration.
For reference the saints signed FAs like
Heath Shuler
Jason David
TBuckey Jones
Brandon Browner
Wally Williams
Albert Connell
Andre Royal
Jarious Byrd
Ken Stabler at the end of his career
Earl Campbell at the end of his career
I think you get the point. If you don’t know any of these players look them up and the time they spent with the saints.

Yes it’s called the salary cap. If you’re butt hurt about Mathieu possibly having to get released you aren’t really paying attention.

He just couldn't stay healthy.
Tesucky Jones and Brandon Browner were way worse.

Derek Carr has a winning record as a saint. Ideal signing? No. But you’re still a clown.

Wish we could dump them both. Add in washed Cam and Demario as well.
ETA: this board loves to bitch about cutting the fat off this roster then gets pissed when people suggest to do exactly that

So be it if we move on from HB, problem is how or with who? We already need one safety, now we would need 2.

Might be the most idiotic thing posted on this site ever. Jesus. Carr isn’t a world beater, but he’s probably a top 5 qb in Saints history. That’s not saying much but sadly its true.

Tbucky was a trade. Which made it even worse.
You can add Kurt Coleman, Kevin Kaesvihorn, and Marcus Maye to that list. All paid a lot and were bad.
And Colby butter fingers Fleener.

You should stop watching football or stop posting.

Who cares? Draft some young players and groom them or make a value free agent pickup. We’re not doing shite in the time period TM has left as a viable NFL player unfortunately which is very very short. To me the focus should be on finding guys who can play here for years. I don’t really care about next season struggles if that guy will be someone that is a starter for when we turn the corner.

We already do IMO. He’s graded out pretty poorly. Which is why his lack of production can be replaced for a portion of his cost.

So draft 2 safeties and hope you hit on both with no veteran to help them? You still need to draft a Guard, a Edge, WR, TE, OT, LB, CB, maybe a RB and now 2 Safeties? That is going to be tough.

It’s absolutely going to be tough. We’re in a really tough situation. Hard decisions HAVE to be made due to past frick ups. I’d rather those hard decisions be guys who are way past their prime like TM, DD, and CJ.
I just think we can sign some vet for a fraction of the cost that can likely match TMs subpar play or at least approach it.
But I also have 0 expectations of competing next year. I don’t really care if we go 1-16 if we can start to turn the page with our roster construction.
If TMs contract off the books can be part of pushing the minimal amount of money into future years that is far more valuable IMO than whatever difference there is between him and a replacement level player (which you can argue he is at this point).

God Browner was awful. Thanks for the reminder lol

AGREE. going to be very tough. If we can keep him I'd rather. If no choice I am ok with that too. Post June 1st it's a 6 mil savings. But would like for him to stay on a mentor a rookie. Film study. Work ethic stuff.

Yeah look don’t get me wrong. I don’t think we cut all three of the old guard on defense. We have to have someone as a steady hand in the locker room. I just want this team to eventually have someone flexibility where they’re not pushing money forward just to get under the cap.
