Hear me out in this. Sean Payton is easily distracted and difficult to motivate.

Not as good as people think. Drew made him look a lot better than he was. There have been several period where he neglected the team as was perceived:
Pain Pills Era
Divorce Era
Remarried Summer
This might be absurd on face value but there doesn’t seem to be much urgency on his parts for building parts of the roster. The hard work that comes with developing succession and long term strategy was never there. We “band-aid” everything. It worked for a decade. Now not so much.
I think you’re about to se a toilet bowl period. 2-3 years of marginal results unless they pull a top tier veteran QB to step in.
It’s clear Jamies isn’t going to pull the team out the gutter with his athletic prowess and skill. How Payton doesn’t know his starter by now is concerning. Screams neglect. This isn’t College Ball where you compete to see who wins the job.
Just putting it out there that there are periods where he doesn’t seem very interested in the job any more.

Well that cost us about 4-5 seasons with neglect so…

He may not be the guy going forward but how is this clear right now?

The last 4 years playoff losses and how they happened will do that to you.

Weren't these during the bounty punishment seasons. Would be difficult to "band-aid" the results during that time frame as blame on SP.
I think a bigger concern is how much of the success is because of Brees v Payton? I think you are seeing something similar in NE right now. We've only known Payton to be successful with Brees, will the team rebound quickly and continue to be SB contenders, will we see some struggles for a few years then be back in the thick of things, or will they be fighting for WC spots moving forward.

based on what?
Also, pull the team out the gutter? We've won the division 4 straight years lol. When you lose a HOF QB you tend to suck for a bit, see the dolphins/broncos/patriots/etc

I love how you mouth breathers are trying to spin CSP’s wedding as the reason why Mike Thomas is a POS diva. Holy reach.

Sean Payton is plenty motivated having to play football chess with the above depicted arse clown.
Remove the clown from the equation and the Saints have 3 Superbowl victories under Sean Payton.

I agree but we’re not likely to find someone better.
He is a HOF coach and has a ton of gravitas around the league (even though we all know he’s pretty overrated and kind of checks out for years at a time).

Based on the period of performance games when Drew was not available.
I felt the playcalling and execution became lazy. There were times where we couldn’t complete basic passes. The playcalling was at times dreadful like running on 3-8 at midfield. Going for 3 straight dive runs on your own field side when behind.
I think as much crap as I gave Brees his last 2 years, the guy was that offense’s strategy. From skill and execution standpoint, but also basic strategy.

The games that we went almost undefeated in?

People may say otherwise due to the playoff failures but i dont know how anyone can look at these last few years and make a topic like this. There may be 2 or 3 coaches tops that can take Taysom Hill and Teddy Bridgewater and win. I honestly think its his best coaching save for the Superbowl year

Like Payton isn't supposed to have a personal life outside of football. These people are frickin ridiculous.

This guy keeps making shitty threads.
Sean payton loves football and is a great coach. You are just making shite up with these shitty threads.

Sean also did his best work when he was double dipping while married and guess who’s married again.

I always saw him as JK Simmons from Whiplash.
