Your expectations for an NFL team are a tad bit unrealistic

unfortunately for the Saints, we DID turn it over 5 times and while we still hung in, we lost....
If the Saints had a defense that game would not have been close. No one could cover the 49ers tight end, and the Saints could not sack one of the bottom tier QBs in the NFL. The "D" was terrible that game. The 49ers D was creating turnovers. The Saints "D" couldn't create a turnover in the kitchen that game.
If you have a good "D" you don't have to score every time you get the ball, and hope you get the ball last.

Joe Vitt in the final press conference says he considers Mark Ingram and Greg Romeus a part of this draft, so:
1. RB Mark Ingram---Drafted to re-vamp Saints lagging 2010 running game & helped the RBC in '11 accumulate the most team rushing yards in Sean Payton's career.
2. DE Greg Romeus---6-5, 267 pass rushing beast finally recovering from ACL & disc injuries. Looks like an ideal Spags-type DE when healthy.
3. DT Akiem Hicks---6-5, 318 "3rd down insider rusher" with "raw pass rush ability, good feet, good hands"
4. WR Nick Toon---6-2, 215, 4.54 speed, Marques Colston clone with arguably more quickness & acceleration in RAC.
5. CB/SS Corey White--5-11.5, 206, ran a 4.4 on his pro day & had a 41.5 vertical. Spags said he showed skills to be a press corner. Could project to safety.
6. OG Andrew Tiller --6-4, 324 classic road-grader & perfect competition for Tennant at backup OG.
7. OT Marcel Jones--6-6, 320 mammoth size & compete for a roster spot as a backup edge blocker at RT
Grade: A

First of all, I was not being smug. What I stated was the truth and 9 out of 10 people would tell you the same thing. You are right, if your Aunt had Balls she would be your uncle; and if we dont commit 5 turnovers we beat the niners. Stating that we would beat the Giants in the New Orleans where we had not lost all year was simply my opinon, not a statement of disrespect. I am happy for the Giants orginization and their fans for winning the SB. Now, that being said I hope they never win another SB again. I thought this was a place to come and express your opinons and such, so if you are butt hurt by mine than GTFO. Try ESPN they seem to have a good reputation.

how is what you said truth, especially when you talk about how it's your OPINION? which is it, truth or opinion?

that's fine... they'd also be told the same thing....

if
that's a very, VERY big word.... like if Saban woulda been smart and took Brees, we'd still be in the cellar.... still wanna play the "if" game? just let it go... the FACT is our defense was not good enough to allow our offense to have a bad game.... it did, and we lost.... period... the 49ers were better than us that day, and as far as beating the Giants the next week, we'll never KNOW (you can sit there and speculate)....

not a statement of disrespect.
if you don't see how it could come across that way, you really are dense.... think if a Falcon fan were to say the same thing you said only about how easy they coulda beat the Saints if they got to play them in the hypothetical game... you wouldn't be a little pissed? of course.... i'm just saying, if you want the respect for the saints that you think they deserve, you have to respect other teams when they accomplish shite.... it's simple....
quote:

really? i'm not.... i'm pissed off... it should have been the SAINTS.... but we lost 3 weeks early... i respect the job they did, but i'm not happy about anyone other than the saints winning the fricking super bowl....
quote:
so if you are butt hurt
lol wut? butt hurt? don't flatter yourself, little man.... i could give a frick about you and your opinion...

ry ESPN
yeah, i'm sure you called your cable provider and told them to remove ESPN off your service, huh? GTFO with that shite....

why stop there? let's throw the next years picks, since it's kinda tied in with the bounty gate scandal too.... hell, any other drafts we can polish this turd with?
look, it's wasn't a shitty draft, but they could have done better.... taking Tiller was dumb.... he wasn't even the best G at the time they picked.... and as far as "CB/SS" next to Corey White....

I am happy for the Giants winning the SB because....they did just that win the SB. You are right the Saints did lose 3 weeks earlier, and the Giants did not take them out of it. I am pissed that the Saints didnt win the SB but that doesnt mean I have to be pissed that the Giants did win it. I have not called my cable provider to remove Food Network but that doesnt mean I watch that either.

Can we see your scouting reports on all available guards who were selected after Tiller? I'm sure the Saints didn't bother extensively researching this, so I'd like to know who we should have chosen.

James Brown would have been better.... was a tackle in college, but will shift to G in the NFL... i'm not a combine guy so i'm not going to go into the numbers, but Brown's are much better than Tiller's...
Brandon Washington would have been better.... Washington's slide was a result of a bad year in 2011, but he was playing out of position.... he was at G early on, but had to switch to LT out of need.... two year starter for Miami.... also, had better numbers than Brown, who we have already established was better than Tiller's....
Rishaw Johnson (who also has better numbers than Tiller) has the same MO as Tiller.... great run blocker, project as a pass protecter.... but Johnson is more athletic, quicker of foot, and moves better than Tiller...
Quentin Saulsberry (numbers almost exact to those of Washington-- better than Tiller's) was a 4 year starter in the SEC West... that ain't easy.... one thing i know about him is he gets to the LBs all the time.... he's great at getting to the second level of defenders... pass blocking wasn't the best, but run blocking was his forte, as i just said with mentioning the 2nd level defenders....
shall i go on?

Yes, please go on. And also attach that to your resume when you apply for a job with the Saints scouts. Or any NFL scouts.
I think I'll take the word of pro scouts who devote their lives to scouting college players. Not Internet posters who only seem to post when they think there is a chance to flame the Saints board. Copying and pasting player profiles doesn't prove your point.

why would i need to do that? there's plenty of flamers here already, before i even post....
and please dont' all super fan on me... i remember when "they" didn't like you, and it wasn't too long ago..... but anyway, just like i've always said everyone here is on the same side... we are all saints fans.... some of us are ultra positive, some of us are more realisitic, and some of us are ultra skeptical (i wouldn't call it negative, really)..... you might not like the other person's point of view, but it's theirs, and since you are on the same side, you should just learn to live with it.... i've learned to live with the ultra positive, "saints can't do no wrong" mentality that gets spread as gospel here.... it's cool.... do your thing.....
but don't get your panties in a wad when not EVERYONE does that.... last i checked, it was perfectly legal to have a differing opinion as well as to voice it.... and sorry, but i just can't blindly follow and join in singing with the chorus.... that ain't me.... never has been, never will be.... i have always been a saints fan, and always WILL be a saints fan, but i have always been critical and vocal about my criticism.... i make no apology for that, as i don't expect you or anyone else to apologize for your perspective....

i was voicing my opinion... you know, the whole 1st amendment and shite..... that does apply on this board, doesn't it?
