When we use the difference in contracts to sign a versatile TE I will enjoy watching people do a complete 180 on this deal.

Murray does the same thing as Ingram without the cost

Run between the tackles, catch the ball a bit, good in pass pro, stand up guy in locker room, proven to be a nice compliment to Dalvin Cook

All of this.

Very happy to see we didn’t overpay, a few other holes to fill and this give us wiggle room to do it

Murray is 29. Pretty old for a RB getting a new 4 year deal.

Even with Ingram's suspensions and games missed due to injury, he has 500 less touches than Mark. And he's only missed 3 games in 5 years.

Hate it because of how important he was in the locker room and he’s grown on me. But he must be trying to get paid.

Murray is a good player

I’d assume it’ll be easy to get out of.

They determine a player's value, set a ceiling price they are willing to pay for him, and if it's higher than that number he walks. Simple as that

Yup. This is business, I'm glad they are sticking to it.

I gotta say, ever since Ireland joined this team, it seems most of the moves we make have been great. It seems he has found the perfect spot to utilize his abilities. Him and Mickey seem to complement each other well. Either way, the trajectory of the saints is about as good as we could hope without Brees in 2020-2021 season (potentially).

The #Saints reached out to Ingram. Made an offer and repeatedly said they wanted him to stay. Loved his flexibility and interchangeability in the offense. Will miss the closeness he and Alvin Kamara. Unique bond.

If that is the case he likely got paid 6 mill+. If so good for him.

With Anthony Barr spurning the #Jets, they have some extra money. I’m told they’ve taken some of that money and made a last and final big offer to Le’Veon Bell. It’s decision time for the ex-#Steelers RB.

Now I'm curious who would offer more than that.

Murray will cost 40-50% less than Ingram for similar production. It's the right move.

This thread is full of some the dumbest hot takes I’ve ever read.

1. Would rather Murray than Ingram at $7 million a year
2. Kamara is the star and needs the bulk of touches
3. The locker room will be fine.
4. Kamara’s feelings will be fine.
5. Murray will be good in the short yardage and goaline
8. Back to #2, Kamara is the future and feature back.
