I'd be joining the melts if Kizer is the pick.
I have not yet seen one Saints fan who likes Kizer, and if I have, I'd bet they are against it now based on how the 1st fell. Saints definitely need to find another impact defender at 42 and we'd lose our chance to do it if we took a QB.

D. Cooks still on the board? Wow someone will move up to take him and Mixon.

How is he better than Cunningham?
I'd rather spend a 3rd/4th on Beckwith than an early 2nd on Cunningham.
He's bigger. He's stronger. He's got decent speed. Beckwith is more prototypical LB size-speed combination. Cunningham just doesn't fit the mold.
Let's look at some of the best LBs in the league:
Luke Kuechly 6'3 242 4.58
Vontaze Burfict 6'1 248 5.09
Dont'a Hightower 6'2 265 4.68
Benardrick McKinney 6'4 246 4.66
Navarro Bowman 6'0 242 26 reps
Bobby Wagner 6'0 233 4.46
Anthony Barr 6'5 255 4.66
Zach Cunningham 6'3 235 4.67
All of these guys are either much bigger or stronger than Cunningham or they are much faster. If you could guarantee me that Cunningham will gain 10 pounds, I might be more on board with using 42 on him.
Cunningham's height (6'3) coupled with his weight (235) makes him very lanky. He's not strong (15 reps). He doesn't have elite speed to make up for that.

Dude, you realize they added weight after the fact right?
Cunningham could add 10-15 pounds and not lose a step

Don't know. He didn't run. Even if he is slightly slower, he's bigger and stronger which makes up for it.

Those were their combine numbers. Try again.

Kizer I don't see, be prepared for a possible Webb though

Zac is a boss......maybe we take a Alabama LB after all....

He was my favorite based on measurables and I think none of the qbs were really that great. I'd take him in 3rd for sure but would like to add another potential starter / big contributor whether that's a pass rusher or playmaker, whatever is higher value.

I don't understand how you can be against Cunningham from a tangible standpoint but ok with Foster who we only know is smaller.

In all seriousness, Ryan Anderson and Tim Williams could both be around when the Saints pick in round 3.

Why. You'll probably be able to get him in 5/6 or even later.
He's not overly athletic and he then had a major injury.

Me, I think Kizer is the best QB in this draft, his stats "regressed" last season based on BK play calling and his lack of an OL more than anything. He can make throws elite throws and is a smart kid, but still has some development to do as he split a lot of time between football and baseball in high school, which perfectly fits with sitting behind Drew for two years.
That said, we need a pass rusher at 42. I wouldn't be opposed to trading a third and a pick next year to move up back into the second to get him. I'm not sold on the QB's next year (USC QB's are always overvalued (Notre Dame ones are too, but anyone who was sold on Quinn and Clausen were idiots), Rosen turns the ball over way too much, and Rudolph is Osweiler 2.0).

I know, I know, but really Trubisky is going to be a huge bust IMO and I'm not sold on Mahomes. It was between Kizer and Watson, and I think Kizer has a better arm, but both will be solid NFL QBs.
