I would think about Bowser for awhile in that scenario.

I mean I'd get not liking it, but not a meltworthy pick

There's quite a few guys I'd be very happy with at 42. With that said though, the Saints probably will not take any of them and will take some guy I've never even heard of. But they know better than I do so I will not "melt."

Y'all stop it!

The combination of his size (6'3 235) strength (15 reps) and speed (4.67) is not what you want in a LB. Get Kendall Beckwith later who is a better player.

ETA: I loved both of our picks last night.

That's a very safe pick. I'm guessing Willis is the real target here and could see them move up to get him.

USA Today round 2 mock

42. New Orleans Saints — DeShone Kizer, QB, Notre Dame: Drew Brees just turned 38 and isn't under contract beyond this season. Kizer could develop into a star with time and good coaching, both of which he'd get in New Orleans. It might not be an arrangement Brees would love, but he'll probably have little trouble finding employment in 2018 — in New Orleans or elsewhere — as long as his body continues to hold up.

Edit: CBS sports mocks Kizer to Saints as well

I'd be joining the melts if Kizer is the pick.

I'm guessing the Saints have Bowser graded higher than Cunningham.

Kizer and Dobbs are the types that everyone figures should have been better so they keep getting the benefit of the doubt

Scouts Inc Rd 2

42. New Orleans Saints

Jourdan Lewis, CB, Michigan

The Saints got the best corner in the draft, Ohio State's Marshon Lattimore, with the 11th pick, but that shouldn't stop them from taking another talented Big Ten corner. New Orleans allowed the most passing yards per game last year as injuries overwhelmed the secondary.

no thanks

Matt Miller has us taking Davis Webb.

Man. The melt of any QB would be epic.

I like Cunningham. I think most people really like his game but complain about his tackling - IMO he is a very sound tackler. Most of his missed tackles happened when runs or passes went to the outside and he had to run far - he lacks top-end speed for that type of role. If you can set the edge and funnel runners into the middle he is going to eat you alive, he is a very sound tackler then. Dude has crazy lower body strength, he has been seen whopping guards sometimes on tape.
