This is starting to become an ugly situation for both of the franchises she owns. She has absolutely no clue what she is doing. She is completely reliant on the people her husband left in place around her to make the correct decisions to keep a solid product on the court/field.
These people (Loomis, Laucha, Griffin) have proven to be failures. Despite considerable investment, the money/personnel wasn't properly managed and we have 2 franchises in freefall.
I am not in favor of her selling the team(s) because the unknown could mean we lose them to another market. I am hoping she figures it out and brings in new blood to re-ignite the team with a new vision.
Regardless, any vision forward has to be without Mickey Loomis.
Even if you dismiss his responsibility in the player selection process, it cannot be ignored that our salary cap situation is and has been since 2010 a complete and total disaster. I understood it when we were in the Brees/Payton championship window. We needed to go for broke at that time. I am talking about 2018 to present day. It is inexcusable and irresponsible. ......and it need to end.

The Saints will never go anywhere with the same front Office-Mickey Ireland. The need to redo player acquisition-Move Mickey to King of the team.

Nah. She has two insanely poorly run professional franchises who are among the worst teams in those leagues. She’s an aloof old gold digger who only cares about photo ops, the golden age of the saints with Brees and Payton, and being a socialite in and old slowly dying town. She’s pretty shitty.
Her underlings have absolutely zero accountability for running said franchises into the ground.

I just have a different view on owners than all y’all. You have bad owners-owners that actively inhibit their teams. Dean Spanos is cheap, he’s bad. Jerry Jones involves himself in roster building, he’s bad.
Then you have non-bad owners. Owners that cut checks and stay out of the way. I don’t know what constitutes a good owner. Is James Dolan a good owner now because the Knicks are pretty good?

That’s the truth some people don’t want to admit. I can’t deny that’s she’s trying to do good with the money she back doored her way into, even if it’s for vain reasons. What I can say, is that she has no clue as to what she’s doing with two professional organizations in a small market city. She’s going to keep listing to Yes Men, which could lead to it getting worse, which could lead to both teams leaving New Orleans.

And she’s an owner that bows down to people that should have already been fired and she doesn’t want to rock the boat as long as money is being made. At least Jerry Jones seems to give a shite, not so much for Gayle.

Gayle is only worried about the cheer squad and the nun outfits they wear

We’ll get him a participation trophy I guess. A for effort.
I’ve said my opinion. Me and Lester have bowling practice at 9

It’s not her fault she is in the position she is in, surrounded by the people she is surrounded with.
If you can’t see why “not being in the way” is an issue when owners have to make important, franchise-defining decisions all the time, then you’re smokin’ arse D

Wouldn’t be surprised if Loomis moves into a rich McKay style role. One of the NOF guys mentioned it.

What is it that you don’t understand, him and lauscha are the owners.

Loomis being involved in any type of decision making going forward is a complete ownership fail.
The issue is if she gets rid of him, she is not fit to make any decisions herself.,

None of these owners are. Her and Lauscha would use league connections and search firms like everyone else does. frickin Sheila Ford didn’t pinpoint Brad Holmes for GM.

I think we all agree that as long as the money comes in Gayle doesn't really care. To me the only way to get Gayle to shake things up is to make life uncomfortable for her.
Gayle needs to become a pariah in New Orleans. Not welcomed at restaurants. Booed when she is out in public. Not invited to social gatherings and kicked out of the high society circles in New Orleans. Not invited to any Mardi Gras events. Nothing out of line, but to people like Gayle they have to be a socialite. They have to be loved. They love their social life and status. That socialite status need to be threatened.
As long as her socialite status isn't threatened, nothing will change. If her socialite status is threatened, then she'll freak out and make changes.

She’s so nice, no one is going to ever pop off at her at a social function.
The only things she cares about is the money coming in, being able to screw Benson's grandkids and having that money to make donations so she can keep the "she's so nice" imagine

I don’t see why some people can’t see this. She’s making donations and helping the community with money she snuck her way into. I remember after the court battle a lot of the so-called news outlets in New Orleans were giddy about her getting control instead of the granddaughter, now the same news outlets don’t have the balls to say what they really think.

In 10 years, New Orleans won't have any professional sports teams.
Fertita is already on record of saying he wants to buy them and would agree and wants to keep in Nola, but nice try with the same shite being said on repeat for about 40 years. Chicken Littles….
I guess if you keep saying it for another 40, you might get it right once.

Well said. NOLA can be a shitty city (which we are) or a shitty team (which we are now). When you have both in this place it doesn’t work and the opportunity to move is real.
Wait until the new coach announced underwhelms and we hemorrhage another 10,000 season tickets. Eventually the narrative will start to flip in the media “NOLA can no longer support professional sports”.

As long as we keep the Saints I genuinely could care less about the Pelicans. I definitely see them leaving at some point and that's okay. Smoothie King Center is probably the worst arena in the league currently and with the state rightly focusing on the Superdome, I can't imagine there is much money left over to build a new arena or do major renovations.
It's ironic that the NBA is the last league to get to Vegas. 10 years ago I would've had the NBA being the first or second (just behind the NHL but before the NFL and MLB) league to get a team in Vegas. Definitely wouldn't shock if the Pelicans were one of the teams that eventually gets considered to move to Vegas.
