It’s like they think everyone has Rodgers waiting on the bench. The best part is that glorious thread from right after the 2017 draft that got bumped where most of the posters were super excited the Saints DID NOT draft Mahomes
Probably the closest anyone with one of the big 4 QBs of the last decade came to drafting a guy to take over was NE with Jimmy G

We were at the bottom of the draft order. Must have guys like Burreaux, Tua, Herbert, Allen, were long gone.
We were close to getting Mahomes but the Chiefs jumped in front of us.

He isn't terrible, but I agree that we can roll with Winston if he can stay healthy. Hill is a capable back-up that can win you games when called upon, as is Siemian, although I like Hill's ability to run versus a true pocket passer. I just hate to judge the Saints after this season because they were such a mess between injuries and Covid protocols forcing their backups into starting roles for more than half their games. But, the team's fate will be left up to the new HC when they hire him.

He misses open throws. Thats the main thing you can't do as an NFL QB. You don't necessarily have to be able to fit the ball into double but you have to be able to hit the TE when he's open up the seam.

These clown takes are getting ridiculous a symptom of the zero sum mentality and overreaction to the last thing you saw.
He was in the SB 2 years ago and a game away this year and was hurt in between. Being hurt all the time is really his biggest issue but he’s a classic good not elite QB. He’s not going to win it for you, needs a great D and a great running game doesn’t hurt but he can get you deep in the playoffs that’s proven.

I have watched Jimmy G through the playoffs, and even though he can take the Niners into the playoffs, there's quite a bit of "what the frick are you doing" in his game when it comes down to the wire. I don't know, I guess I wouldn't hate it if he were the QB, but I'd be terrified of him doing something stupid at the worst time.
I guess that's how I feel about Jameis too.

He was better than solid...but he was very restricted and was playing the game manager role. The scheme was doing a lot of the lifting.
Everyone was hoping that eventually the offense would open up and, under Payton, we'd end up with a Winston that still made good decisions but also made plays downfield more frequently. We never got to find out.
Winston is going to be a disaster in a different offense, IMO.
I thought a guy like Garrapolo or, even better, a guy like Goff could have thrived under Payton in a way that they weren't able to thrive elsewhere. They both have better releases and have flashed at times.
Those aren't viable options now. Barring the hire of a very quality offensive mind, none of those 3 would be successful here, IMO.

Are you fricking kidding me? The last 4 years we have had 2 different former 1st rd picks in Teddy Bridgewater & Jamies Winston as backups and potential long term replacement options. We also went 10-2 with those guys at QB. Teddy earned a large contract based on what he accomplished with us, that led us directly to bringing in a former #1 overall pick in Winston on a board favorite "1yr prove it deal" for 2 years in a row. He had 14TD/3INT ratio and was 5-2 as starter, and was obvious team leader to boot. Has he not proved it? Yea we still have to sign him to a deal, but that can easily be done, so saying we have done nothing is just stupid.
Not to mention Taysom being here as a backup for several seasons now too. Just an awful take

Then who do you think they should have gotten? Do you not realize how hard it is to find elite QBs? You guys in you temper tantrum are contradicting yourself. If it was so easy to just have another all Pro future HOF QB ready to go, then you should be able to get one now
And before you say Mahomes that’s 20/20 hindsight. This thread shows what many of you retards thought at the time
