Thankfully Payton isn’t here because he would be salivating to get Garoppolo here

You’re like the ex that got left at the altar and now wants to act like they never wanted to get married the whole time.

People better start pointing the finger at Loomis as well. They both had ample opportunity to address the brees succession plan and didn’t do squat.

He's better than what we've got.

But, the idea of rehabilitating a QB went out the door with Payton.

We're heading for a long stretch of bad football.

Garoppolo is exactly the kind of QB Payton would want and he would be perfectly mediocre when Payton handcuffed him in our offense

As opposed to good regular season football and lousy playoff football?

He is not better than Winston. I would sign Winston over him.

Why do people say this like it’s a regular occurrence to go from one star QB to another. Do you know how rare that is? In this century it’s pretty much Favre to Rodgers that’s it. Frankly having Winston is about as close as it gets.

That was a bad int, but to be fair he couldn't take a sack and had enough presence of mind to dish it off. The ball was tipped and the rest is history. Do I want him over Jameis? Probably not at the price he wants.

In that situation, he needs to eat the ball there so that he at least has an opportunity on 4th down.

Let me know when Winston touches the superbowl or nfc championship game like Jimmy G did. 5000 yards who cares! I like Winston but yards don't matter.

That 49ers defense carried GarCrapolo to the Super Bowl & to wins in these playoffs along with Deebo Samuel being a beast.

I hear you but tell me who they brought in the last five years. Hill, Book… no one of note that was a real option as a plan. Just more OL and DL.

We got a fricking starter-quality guy to take a near $0 deal to sit as an understudy in year 1 and then took a backup QB deal to be our starter in year 2
