From Kat T.: Micky Loomis refusing to answer basic questions?

Things Loomis has declined to talk about today:
- Lattimore's contract
- Why they moved on from their assistants
- Specific candidates for OC or whether anyone in the building might be promoted
- What he told the players in the exit meeting
- Specific things they need to fix
This man is not a leader.

what the heck is this guys problem?
he has made quite the heel turn this season going out of his way to purposely be contrarian.

CSP has rubbed off on him, thinks he’s the smartest man in the room. His head coach hire was horrible and his drafts have been bad lately. Top off with other fans taking over the Dome and it’s not a good look.

He’s always been like this, back when haslett was fired & he was retained, he threw a fit on the radio about a question he was asked. Part of the reason I’ve always thought of him as a clown

I think its weird that Sean is still brought up in pressers when he talks. I think thats part of the problem. Mickey only knows one way if success and that’s Sean’s way. Unfortunately, hes in denver and Mickey, due to his lack of experience, is having difficulty finding ways to win without Payton.

I feel like Mikey is living off ONE good decision he made 18 years ago.

Worried talking about it may hurt trade value?

Not sure why to avoid this, but also not sure what needs to be said. Real question to ask, and for him to avoid, is what did he see in the rest of the staff to keep them around

Other than a list of people to interview (which I don’t think is ever leaked before confirmed) how would he even know this at this point?

What he told the players in the exit meeting
Of course we want to know, but that should stay in the locker room

Specific things they need to fix
Not sure how you do this without throwing the rest of the staff and current players under the bus.

I used to think Loomis was a solid CEO type, he knew to defer to the football people, Payton, Ireland, Fontenot…but since Payton has exited it’s clear he believes he has a huge hand in the golden years, if not one of the driving forces.
And until Gayle sells or dies there’s no end in sight to his reign. Dennis is set up to be next year’s fall guy, just as Pete was this year.

This is true
And you can get away with it with the fanbase when you are winning. But they are no longer winning. His smug answers before TC last year still make me laugh.

Look Jim Finks was the better GM in my opinion but Mickey’s hiring of Sean made him the most successful GM in Saints history. It sucks because now we’re seeing that maybe those golden years were so much more about Payton and Brees, then Loomis.

Serious question
Is Mickey Loomis the worst GM in the NFL?

Is there any GM in the NFL who would give a straight answer to any of those questions?

a ton of emotional tards running around upset cause they aren't getting instant grits as they please.

Emotional is definitely a word I'd use to describe the meltdown on here.

He’s cocky because he knows Gayle will never fire him. What professional smacks on gun during a press conference like a 14 year old schoolgirl.

This was probably the only thing he said of note.

I would like to ask Demario what he thinks this means.
