He was the 40th overall pick. The likelihood that he'll be a bust is massive. I don't care about his age. If you get a decade out of a starting QB with that pick you've hit the lotto.

Love didnt dominate and it was Utah State

His soph year numbers….
64.0% 3,567 yards 32tds 6ints

quote:

Cousins/purdy also did not dominate in college

They didn’t dominate but Purdy started as a true freshman and started a full four years in a major conference. Cousins also started three full years in a major conf before the COVID crap. Neither transferred over competition concerns.

quote:

Cousins 45 games. Purdy 48 games. Shough 42 games. Youre just dumb and too stupid to use actual stats.

Im sure CEOs of businesses treat job candidates the same as someone that managed to complete their degree in 4 years compared to someone that took 8 years to finish college. Shough still couldn’t start as many games as Purdy in double the amount of years.

You are just to dumb and stupid to understand stats…..

Jesus do you guys realize he’s going to play at some point and put this to rest?

All the comps are silly. If he plays well, great. If he doesn’t we have a ton of flexibility.

What is the constant melting for?

Yes

I’m going to trust our offensive playcalling HC

Who was a QB

And just won a SuperBowl

To make the correct decision here

The more I read about Shough the more I like him

Given the obvious subtext to this comment, just stepping in remind that Shedeur Sanders lost every meaningful game in college, and was less “dominant” than Shough by any meaningful metric

quote:

Patrick Mahomes

Led his conference in yards and TDs two years in a row

quote:

Drew Brees

Led conference in yards 3x, TDs 2x, top 4 in Heisman 2X, Big 10 POY 2x. Won his conference and finished 13th in the polls

quote:

Ben Roethlisberger,

Led conference in yards, TDs, QB rating, top 10 in Heisman, MAC POY. Won his conference and Miami OH finished 10th in the polls

quote:

Tom Brady

Led conference in comp %, QB Rating, 12th and 5th finishes in the AP poll

Mouthbreathing armchair GMs here want a 5000 yard 50 TD passer that goes 0-17 and gets the #1 pick, to draft their replacement.

Basically, they make no sense.

What the frick does Shadeur Sanders have to do with anything? I didn’t want anything to do with him.

I do think the Browns got a great value for him in the 5th though. Nice gamble and if he’s not humbled, means nothing lost to cut him. I think Ewers was an even better value in the 7th.

If Shough doesn’t work out, we lost a likely high impact starter at another position.

I don't mind the Shough pick. The ;pick I hate is Vernon Broughton at #71. I also hated Isaiah Foskey, Peyton Turner, and Marcus Davenport. I did like the Bryan Breese pick. The Saints FO doesn't know shite about drafting DLs

Brees played in the B10 twenty five years ago

quote:

Led conference in yards 3x, TDs 2x, top 4 in Heisman 2X, Big 10 POY 2x

Shough was statistically the ~5th best QB in the ACC
