I'm surprised it took so many pages for people to point out the obvious that is guaranteed money.

Here's all you need to know dude. We just signed Coby Fleener, an average TE at best, for 70 percent of the money jimmy graham makes for roughly 25 percent of JGs production.

I agree. That's why I like Fleener.
but we coulda signed your boy Mario with this money.
Go cheap on a veteran TE and go big on a veteran pass rusher would of been better imo.

RE: Fleener's past production
Ben Watson's best season in New England with the GOAT QB Tom Brady was 49/643/3!!!!1111 TOm frickin Brady! Didnt stop Ben from going HAM last season
RE: Fleener's contract
Dwyane Allen, Jordan Cameron, Kyle Rudolph, Dennis Pitta, Zach Ertz, Charles Clay, Vernon Davis, Charles Clay, Jared Cook
These guys are or were all making $7+ mil per year. These dudes havent done dick outside of a Vernon Davis; matter of fact, Fleener has damn near match all of their best seasons while sharing TE duties with Dwayne Allen
6'6" 250 @ 4.5 doesn't grow on trees, gents. On a team with almost zero pass catching weapons, this should be seen as a welcome addition by the fans

Tigerbait you think we can treat fleeners contract as depreciating asset? I kid, but if it's a back loaded contract I'm in for it. If its 7 mil a year yikes

I can't believe it took till page 6 to get to this point. Everyone is retardedly focusing on just the average/year. Most of that 36 could be backloaded when either the cap increases or we may be able to outright cut him. 10 of this could be all that's guaranteed. I'll wait to have my pussy bleed all over here until we find out the full details.

Not a fleener fan, but TEs seem to flourish here so whatever, I'll wait to see the details

He only had 25% of JG's production this year? If so, I agree, that's fricking terrible. But I bet it's not.

All depends how much is guaranteed

So you don't know the details which is pretty important in terms on NFL contracts. This isn't the NBA
Derp. You don't understand the salary cap

I think this a good pick up. A little rich for my taste but I have to wonder if he's basically going to be the new Colston of the offense with him gone.

It's not like he wasn't in a TE friendly offense last 3 years though. The Ben Watson comparison I do not like. Fleener before nola cannot be compared to Watson before nola. 2 totally different roles prior.

I think we can all atleast agree that Fleener should be very productive in our offense.
Posted on 3/9/16 at 7:15 pm to Mouth
yeah true that.
I just hope we pick some D-linemen in FA though. The defense needs help worse than the offense.

Does anyone else want to go treadwell now then go Guard Guard RB then maybe an OLB and a Punter?
Posted on 3/9/16 at 7:17 pm to CajunsTigersSaints
Damn, feels like too much for Fleener. But Brees does need targets...

pretty sure everyone realize its about guaranteed money. Goes without saying.
a $36mil deal is going to command 8 figures in guaranteed money
