His pass rush severely lacks. He's got one move - the bull rush. If that doesn't work, he's all out of ideas. Worse than that, he's continuously, almost humorously late off the snap.

So with all the college footage, combine workouts and individual workouts prior to the draft that NOBODY could see this??

It amazes me!

My mistake I kept thinking we had traded 172

We have people on here getting pissy because we "passed on a guy with a 2nd round grade" that got picked in the 5th after we picked someone (or something like that)

I got pretty pissy on here after the draft when we skipped over Brian branch, I thought he was easily a top 20 pick. We went with Fosky. Did those scouts and gms get it right? I bet he goes in the top 15 in redraft.

Tyree Wilson: First 3 seasons
Games started: 7
Sack: 12

Chase Young: First 4 seasons (injured 1 yr)
Games started: 32
Sacks: 16.5

I had tackle stats but for some reason it didn't show Young's rookie season so they looked more comparable.

Their stats aren't that far off even with Tyree being a "bust" through 3 years and Chase Young ending up DROY year 1. That's without Tyree starting games either. We just need him to be a step behind Chase Young not even on the same level.

I'll hold judgment until he plays the season.

I don’t think he worked out. Think he may have been injured. Scouts fell in love with his body and size.

I think it's one thing when a guy falls half a round vs a full 2-3. Scouts are seeing something the layman isn't that's pushing them away. Right all the time? No

Branch went a couple of picks later in the 2nd round

Not 4 rounds later

What are you talking about

TOM BRADY WAS A 7TH ROUNDER!!!!

using outliers to try and prove your point is dumb.

No one is arguing NFL scouts and GMs are infallible, but if a guy falls wayyyy past what a Kiper/mccshay etc had them at, then collectively the entire league has told you where they have him ranked and what his value is

They can outplay that slot and prove them wrong

why is even worried about this trade
the 5th round pick saints gave up has as much of a shot at the roster spot as the 7th they gained
plus you got a former 1st rounder at a position of need who can at least give you something this season

There’s plenty examples of it every year. I’m just saying scouts and gms are wrong quite often. And tv guys get it right.

Personally I like the trade, our depth last year on the edge was bad. Cam is another year older. He’s better than anything u could get on the edge in the draft or free agency as that point.

I just wish we would have traded up back into the 5th to grab Abney or Rivers considering our cb depth. The cost would not have been much.

He went a few threads without bringing it up, so had to figure out a way to work it into the conversation

Hey I was super high on him in the 2nd. Made it know plenty of times on here after the draft. He went at least 30 picks later than what he should have. ESPN had him at #51 before this past season.

Just another example of gms and scouts not being the end all be all of talent evaluation. Our scouts passed on one of the best in the league for a guy that’s a practice squad player now…

Do you really think some dude named Seth Waller knows anything about football? No. He probably doesn’t even know who Tyree Wilson is. They just have AI pull up some completely BS meaningless stats and AI fills in the rest. It’s so sad that their need to fill the website is so bad that they really put out trash like this and think people will give the guy credibility. fricking joke.

With him at minimum you know what you have. A roster guy who can be thrown in the rotation and give you some production. Is he a scrub? No. Did he live up to a high 1st round draft pick? Absolutely not. Can he get there? Possibly. The guy has the potential, but for whatever he didn't live up to it in Vegas. You have zero clue what your 5th rounder will be which they chose Dalton Johnson. 5th rounders have just above a 50% chance of making the 53 man roster. We also got a 7th rounder out of it CB TJ Hall. Can't really say who won this one until a year or two.
