I have to believe that he will have to kneel during the NA along with the rest of his teammates this season to keep whatever little level of respect he still has from them. Being the only player standing would be an even worse look for him after all this.

It’s impossible to please everyone on both sides; they all just end up hating you in the end. He definitely saved his 20Mill NBC job with his recent PR response, but no doubt he will never be Drew Brees ever again.

He should have doubled down and alienated all his teammates.

That’s definitely real leadership.

Any chance he just said what he said bc everyone in the office was or had to? I mean for fk sakes I’m sure he’s still as good a quality guy as ever. Look at all the decent things he’s done for New Orleans. I don’t see any other record smashing lethal quarterbacks who have an mvp/super bowl ring doing those kinds of things for the organization.

In the current atmosphere of whatever shite hole we are in Drew is doing what he needs to do to get though one more year. He wants to go out a winner..Hopefully we will see if this crap was worth a good mans soul

Drew who?? Popped in the ST forum for the first time in weeks...Yep still not watching the saints this season or any NFL for that matter.

Brees used to be a hero but now he is a ball-less zero. What a frickin let down from someone I used to emulate as my favorite NFL player of all time. Just frickin SAD.

Yeah what a way to go out, like a beaten dog with it's tail between his legs. How does he face his sons after being such a coward?

And don't give me that shite "he was just protecting his career" He has all the money he and his family will ever need. He could have stood his ground and if those pussies in the locker room kept it up he could have given them a big "FU" and said "good luck this year, I'm out!" but no now he has turned into a pandering fool. What an embarrassment.

People act like the small vocal Minority of fans who have turned on him are more important to his team success than the actual players he plays with.

It’s fricking absurd.

And honestly, these mouth breathers keep making the same mistake.

The issue isn’t that Drew respects the flag, it’s that he couldn’t understand the reasoning behind the kneeling. It’s not about the troops or disrespecting the troops.

You might as well have yelled this in an empty hall. The only difference between the alt-right mindset on this board and the lunacy of the alt-left is the side of the aisle they fall on. They are all exactly the same otherwise. There is no room for discussion or understanding of either side's POV, its just "agree with me or you're the devil."

I really hate this board for making me agree with Lester Earl.

There are other good saints message boards that talk saints football and none of this other nonsense. When you have a site like td that gives free range posting to the poli board/OT deplorables this is what you get.

I’m glad the low hanging fruit haven’t douched up the pelicans talk yet.

I don't personally care if Brees apologizes 10 more times, I still think he's a good guy and has nothing to apologize about anyways. I think the way his teammates publicly threw him under the bus was hard to witness. It's hard to maintain respect for those players after seeing them act like teenage girls. MJ telling him to STFU was awful, and then cringeworthy after he deleted it.

From what I've seen on here and IRL, way more people are upset by his teammate's actions than Brees apologies. This is the first time in my life I've been below 100% fully interested, I'm probably around 25% right now, maybe it will go up when the season starts up, I don't know. I actually hope it will, but there was some major respect lost with guys like MT, AK, MJ, and CJ. I'll admit, I'm not 22 years old either, maybe talking in private first isn't the way to handle things anymore, maybe Twitter is it, I have no idea.

ETA: And yes I realize Cam Jordan isn't THAT young either, but I'm still about 10 years older than him

Was having lunch yesterday with two friends. Both are doctors. Both abou 40-45 years old. It’s basically the key demographic.

One said he was done with the NFL. The other was saying he has begun breaking to his son that he probably wouldn’t be able to stomach watching it.

This is way bigger than a lot of people here realize.

It absolutely is. Sure there will still be some fans watching, but there is going to be a mass exodus of fans who have been watching and financially supporting the team for years.

People are tired of it. Tired of the false propaganda and constantly being insulted and lectured. Tired of these leagues constantly pandering to only one side of the aisle that is completely based on false narratives.

Hopefully the NFL tanks financially and goes bankrupt. The NBA can burn in hell as well.

You think he won with his team by throwing away his integrity and groveling for forgiveness to the gods of woke?
