which is crazy to beleive when your read the stats below. I am not taking anything away from Rodgers, but if Drew's season is MVP worthy on many levels.

actually you are...for Brees to get it you'd have to take it from Rodgers...Rodgers has had the better year. His TD to int ratio is just sick.

No, but they sell a shitload of Greenbay/Aaron Rodgers merch. How many people will go out and buy that Rodgers Jersey because he won MVP?

I don't think the big vs small thing applies here though, The Packers are a bigger "market" than the Saints, but Rodgers has really earned it this season as well. I think it's close, and I'd really like Brees to win, but there's just really no argument for it other than the yardage record.

Breaking the record and setting a new COMP % Record is pretty sick as well.

If that was the case, Drew would have won it over Peyton Manning a couple years ago cause everybody and their momma already had Manning gear in the closet and everyone needed to stock up on this new Drew guy.

15-1 is more sicker than 13-3

I would disagree. Drew Brees has the yardage record (Marino's) and a good chance at breaking his own comp % record. Rodgers has a couple more TD passes and a few less INT's.

and almost 300 more yards rushing and 3 TDs

also Brees only has a little over 300 more yards passing so if you're going to casually dismiss Rodgers TD passes I think you can dismiss basically 1 games worth of passing yards. Brees is my favorite player of all time but Rodgers has him this year. Plus the pack have a better record and Rodgers did beat Brees head to head.

Aaron Rodgers deserves the MVP over Drew Brees, any objective person can see that

Brees had a better year than Manning whenever they awarded it to Manning, so that logic is bull shite (although it's being used an excuse by the talking heads aplenty this season).

Well, the Colts didn't lose to the Saints in the regular season either...

GB isn't exactly a huge market

And before anyone attacks me Brees is having an all time great season. Rodger just happens to be having an equally great year, and only one of them will likely win it.

MVP = Most VALUABLE Player, Not player with the best stats or even the most talented player.

When Rodgers was gone last year, Flynn stepped right in and did just fine. If Brees were to get hurt, the Saints would suffer tremendously....and save me the Chase Daniel c*ck sucking fest.

Brees is more valuable than Rodgers, period.

so by this criterion P. Manning wins "MVP", hands down

I'm sorry, but 45/6 is just siiiiiick

there's no shame in being 2nd in the MVP voting this year

Why is everyone so worried about Drew getting MVP.

Drew plays better with a chip on his shoulder.
Plus
How sweet would it be to win the NFC in Greenbay against MVP rodgers.

Then Drew can talk about how the extra preperation before the season paid off in his postgame speech

Aaron Rodgers got this by a nose hair.

He led Green Bay to 14-1 record and clinched the playoffs.
Has more TDs, which means better looks with less yards to do it.
They lost one game to Kansas City. A 6-9 team

The Saints have lost 3 games, and one to a 2-13 St. Louis team. UGH. This defense only allowed 1 passing TD, sacked Brees 6 times and intercepted 2 passes AND THE TAMPA BAY LOSS doesn't look too good neither. Brees Struggled and it might be the reason he isn't getting MVP. Losing to a 4-11 and a 2 win 13 loss team just doesn't look good.

Forget performance, this man hits the nail on the head. You give the MVP award to the guy with the worst backup.

I would disagree. Drew Brees has the yardage record (Marino's) and a good chance at breaking his own comp % record. Rodgers has a couple more TD passes and a few less INT's.

Brees didn't throw a few more interceptions, he threw more than double the interceptions Rodgers did. Rodgers has thrown more touchdowns than Brees. His team has a better record. His passer rating is more ten points higher than his nearest competitor.

Rodgers threw for less yards, but that might be because GB had way more takeaways and was usually winning pretty substantially. Also, an outdoor, northern QB will generally throw for less yards than an indoor QB.

I didn't say it wasn't close or that I didn't think Brees hasn't had an unbelieveable year or that I don't want him to win it, but Rodgers had a better year.

thanks, client. i was gonna have to use my own breath.

and i also agree.. the big market small market theory that is being kicked around here is short bus.

manning won the mvp for the season the same year brees won mvp for the super bowl. peyton had a better year in the regular season. this year, up to this sunday, rodgers has had the better season. completion percentage, passer rating, and turn overs. what records brees breaks, those are long standing records, most of them, and have little to do with the games being played this season. obviously the criteria for who will win is set. and none of it has anything to do with marino's 1984 record or unitas' 50-plus year old record.

and with all that said, id still like to see brees win the mvp hahah but unless rodgers has a downright ugly horrible game while brees has an incredible one, i dont see that happening..

So if Brady passes Brees this week and secures the yardage record, that means we give it to Brady, right? Or is completion % the end-all QB stat?

Over something like, say, QB rating? Which if Rodgers doesn't play on Sunday, he's already broken the single season record?

Well, a lot of better-informed voters are going to end up disagreeing with you.
