The award that gives the better legacy: NFL MVP or SuperBowl MVP?

got to thinking w/ all the brees/rodgers debate on the NFL MVP award... it seems like I can better remember the Super Bowl MVP's than I can the NFL MVP of the past several seasons.

Depends. You can be the Super Bowl MVP simply because you had the best game of any player on that day without being the actual best player on either roster - see Dwight Smith.
I'd have to go with NFL MVP because there is a much higher competition for that award over a longer period of time.

NFL MVP is more impressive but I would probably remeber the SB MVP before I would the NFL MVP but thats because its the last image sketched in your mind at the end of that season.

Maybe for you it is.
Super Bowl MVP is given to the guy who had the best performance in one game.
NFL MVP is given to the guy who had the best performance the entire season.
Even if the Super Bowl is the biggest, most important game of the season, I'd much rather say I was more important to my team's success overall than the roughly 2,000 players who play over the course of the NFL season than be the guy who can say I played better on one day than approximately 80-90 other guys.

i think you have to at least have a little of both. The League mvp is about you being the best player in the nfl, but it will only get you so far in the talks until you at least get that one ring. Once you have both, then your there

Dan Marino's NFL MVP Season is hardly noted (aside from his record year). What will be always noted is Drew's Super Bowl Ring and MVP.

Depends. If QB A has 0 superbowl MVPs but has won superbowls then his legacy is greater. If he has 0 superbowl MVPs and no superbowl wins than QB B wins.

How did you jump to a Manning vs Brady debate right there based on those stats? Those dont fit those two at all.
