The NBA is not gonna allow the pelicans to get another number one pick as long as we have a previous number one pick on the roster. They don’t want the pelicans to be "too good." It's just not good for viewership.
So, once Zion is signed away as a free agent or traded in the last year of his contract, then the Pelicans will get some decent draft picks. See, e.g., Anthony Davis prior to getting the Zion pick.

Perhaps they can educate themselves on what the draft "lottery" means. If we tanked to get a high draft pick everyone in that front office should be fired.

Getting the number 1 pick in the NBA is pointless if they never play (Zion) because they want to get traded to a bigger market. Those shenanigans don’t happen in the NFL.

So what would show it’s not “fixed”? someone has to get the #1 pick. Seems like there is a narrative regardless of who get the pick. Also no one has ever been able to explain why they “fixed” it for San Antonio to get Tim Duncan rather than Boston

Then you should’ve known that the NFL draft process is totally different from NBA. If the Saints tanked and had the worst record they would undoubtedly be the #1 pick in the draft unlike NBA where you are placed by whatever lotto number is picked regardless of record.
