Does anyone in here think Richardson will be an impact guy?

Take Hendon Hooker over Richardson..

Look at Georgia QB later in draft before Drafting Richardson. Drafting Richardson would be Malik Willis 2.0

All I know is Florida offense looked so much better when Richardson was in there compared to previous season when he was rotating with Emory Jones. Damn near impossible to know how he will translate to the NFL.

He's a huge roll of the dice. Like people say, below the neck he's going to be almost ideal. Big arm, big and excellent athlete.

I keep reading about whether these guys can translate to an NFL offense (Hooker included)... what's the cons of trying to run something similar to what they did in college? Is the concern just that they'd get hit too much, you shorten his career?

It seemed like Jalen Hurts ran something like that, led the Eagles in rushing. Took them to the Superbowl and within a few plays of winning it. He's not a prototype pocket guy, don't think he would have done what he did if you tried to stay with a mainstream offense.

With the rules the way they are, kinda seems like you can play to use the mobile QB, and teach him to slide when it looks like he will get crushed. And after a couple years starting experience, you can start reeling in the runs some, as he gets better with the passing game overall.

See: Lamar Jackson, who was 10x the prospect that Richardson is. Hell you can probably add Cam Newton to that list, too.

Cam was washed out physically around 30 and couldn't play QB without it. Lamar looks to be heading down the same path.

Both of these guys were SO much better as prospects than Richardson. Much better college careers and passing efficiency.

This would be comparable if you looked at Jalen Hurts as a freshman or sophomore. Compare his final year at OU to Richardson's last year at UF.

Hurts works harder than almost any other guy and has improved himself due to sheer will. Richardson has no indications he's in the same stratosphere as Hurts. Hurts had accuracy issues that he's improved upon greatly, but he was always smart and avoided big hits from a young age.

If Richardson had indications (and production) that he could work to improve like Hurts, he'd be a legit top-5 pick. The problem is Richardson was not very good his final year at UF.

Richardson can come in and do what a justin fields is doing in the league. Make a few throws, get it done on the ground. The hope being that the mechanics are worked out during the process

It took Josh Allen 3 years into the league to figure things out. Everyone wants the next big thing but doesn’t want to endure the growing pains that come with it. I’d much rather take a swing on Richardson or Levis over say a Hendon hooker

I just don't see what the experts see that's for sure. Physical specimen yes. NFL pro QB?

But as I often say QB projection into the nfl is a riddle wrapped by a question surrounded by a mystery.

Take 10% from his college stats then people should know his stats as NFL QB.

Anyone that actually watched him play a whole game and not the 1 or 2 highlights where people bounce off of him, know he is going to suck. Just like he has every year at Florida.

The right QB coach can develop him into something special.

Those Florida offenses weren’t exactly loaded with talent. He was throwing to bums at WR
