He seems very interested and the way the league is with injuries... If anybody goes down Beckham won't be a drop off tbh.

Barring an injury I like where we are at WR.

i see little harm in a near vet min contract that we know he's starting out on the PUP or whatever.

Honest question. How many people on here would take half the pay that you'd normally get to work at your local mom and pop hardware store? That's essentially what a hometown discount is?

Landry was reportedly looking for close to $20M a year and signed a 1 year, home town deal of $3M (that can go up to $6). And he's healthy and ready to play now.

I would be interested in another 1 year prove it deal for OBJ. As long as there are no cap implications down the road it seems to be virtually no risk. My only concern would be if there are too many personalities/receivers and not enough balls to go around. I would say Thomas, Landy and OBJ would all be trying to prove they're still top talents while Olave is just trying to prove he belongs. Throw in AK along with maybe an uptick for Trautman and someone could be left out in the cold and unhappy about it (I'm specifically thinking of MT and OBJ.

I do reckon that was just the market value for Landry

On the face of this I agree. However how is he going to react when he is healthy enough to play and the team favors their #1 pick? I just don't think there is the opportunity there for a volume receiver which is what Beckham thrives on.

Now if he was a Tight End then we would be cookin

How many receivers do you need? You still have Callaway and Smith and have to keep one WR spot for Harris as our returner.

with MT, Jarvis, Odell, and Olave... i see an opportunity for brotherhood for a year. Saints do well with getting players to buy in. Strong lockerroom. Odell wants to win.

Signing on a hometown discount always makes me laugh because you know the same people throwing that out there would not take the cut.

With that said, in OBJ's case it may actually work out depending on when he'd be ready to play. 1/2 price contract may still be market rate if he only plays 1/2 the season? I don't recall the extent of the injury, but ACL's are 6 months minimum which would put him in mid-Aug. If there was anything else (was the 2nd surgery on same knee), recovery could drag on until Oct/Nov. At that point, OBJ may just be looking to get some time on a short-term deal with a contender since no one will give him a huge deal at that point in the season after an injury. But, it also depends on the health of the WR room.

I would have zero problems watching Thomas, Olave, Landry and Odell running down the field in Saint uniforms.

Of course. A healthy Beckham could add just the right spark to your team for the playoff push. Just look at the Rams

I don't know. Am I already a multimillionaire who has already achieved all of his career goals in spite of being a diva?

With drew brees trying to go out on top, win another superbowl and needing recievers with all the money he has made, how much of a pay cut was he willing to take?

And where was he sitting after free agency and the draft? At home on his couch.

I can look for a job that pays me 3 times for the same job I do now but I know there's not a snowballs chance in hell I will get an offer

frick him. He goes to Rams trying to be Hollywood after the Saints genuinely loved and wanted him. Rams use him as a means to an end. He sacrifices an ACL for them and they show little love by low ballin him.

If this was last year absolutely. But its getting to the point where you are doing a diservice to Olave. I want our rook to get plenty of playing time.
