Do Saints really want Jameis?

I'm getting the feeling that the Saints really do not want Jameis. I think the are hoping that a better option is available.

If it's true that they have interest in Jimmy G, that's disappointing. I think Jameis peak talent is better than Jimmy G's peak.

If Pittsburgh pick's up Jameis, he will do really well there.

My understanding is that they do want Jameis, at their price.

If you are the Saints or a Saints fan I am not sure who you could possibly be hoping for that is even remotely realistic at this point that is better than Jameis. He is way better than any FA or Jimmy G. Which spells badly for us....because he will be desired

Credible reporters seem to have Saints as the favorite for Jamies

The more QBs that change hands before FA, the better. And cheaper.

WAS & DEN were two of the big players in the QB market. Appears SEA is shedding cap, don’t think they’re a threat for Winston. Think they draft a guy. Don’t se me the Colts going to him, too similar to Wentz. I think they’re the real player for Jimmy G

Who does that leave? Tampa? Not happening. Steelers, sure, but they seem really interested in Pickett. But they are the closest threat to sign Winston

Saints still favorite in the clubhouse

Watson has a big grand jury hearing Friday too which I imagine several teams will be paying close attention too. Jameis will stay in Nola and save us all

It’s either Winston or Trubisky. There can be no other choices without a trade. I really hope the plan isn’t Teddy as good as a guy as he is he just isn’t anything more than a premium backup.

I wouldn't say way better.

But he knows the system and has a working relationship with the other players on the team, so that puts him over the top.

Jimmy G is serviceable when healthy. Problem is "when healthy".

Im surprised at anyone saying JimmyG is better than Winston…

With the right WR’s, Kamara, and offense for him, Winston could be a solid arse QB imo.

You're missing the Colts. They're a more attractive option than Washington would have been.

wtf is with all the Winston lovers here. He isnt a Championship caliber QB. Roll the dice on someone else besides Winston.

I honestly think I’d rather take an arse whoopin than to see Trubisky as the Saints starting QB.

He’s that bad

Winston is the best option we have I think signing him back is important to not completely shite the bed. Then I'd still draft Corral or Pickett if available in the first round.

Jameis Winston is not better than Jimmy by any stretch of the imagination. Embellish much?

If you were a new coach, would you want to pin your future on Jameis? Hell no

Can’t make sense of going from Wentz to Winston. I’d add Jordan Love and Cousins to the guys the colts may trade from

His career numbers are better. I suspect there are reasons for that outside of individual play.

I honestly don't see a great deal of difference, though I do think the upside potential for Jameis is higher. Ultimately, I think it will come down to value. I think Jameis is the best value for the saints out there.

He was looking pretty solid last year, though I think the play calling may not have allow the higher reward (and risk) types of plays possibly because there was a marginal lack of trust. I think that needs to go away, he seems to have pulled back on the bad decisions significantly so let him sink or swim at this point.
