Seems like the design would have been different if you knew the rule?

I was going to say that after those recovered on-side kicks, I have no faith that our special teams coach knows his arse from a hole in the ground.

I actually think they drew up the play believing they could steal a first down on a pass interference or hold. There is no other logical thought unless he wasn't the intended target.

How about that pass. Absolute money. Hit right on the numbers.

Originally I would have said no, but Sean was calling for a hold pretty immediately. So I’ll say yes, they knew PI wasn’t on the table but holding was. The rule is so stupid.

Did they not know you don’t fake a punt on 4th and 18

Payton was on their arse immediately about holding and not pass int so I’ll say I think he at least did.

My question is if you know pass int is off the table that’s an extremely high risk call to basically bank on them calling holding. Why take that chance?

Running a fake hoping for a call is a bad plan. It was just a shitty fake.

Sean’s worst decisions yesterday:
1. 3rd and short...runs a taysom hill play outside to Bosa’s side of the field.
2. That fake punt
3. The first 2 point call. I don’t really care what your sheet says, the advantage was minimal compared to the risk. It cost you the game

So, in summary, CSP should not be calling plays, Dennis Allen should be fired and Kamara should be released
Is that the Board consensus?
How about this? We were beaten on a given Sunday by arguably the best team in the NFC. West. That’s about it.

Seems like the rule makes a lot of sense to me.

Ain’t gonna lie...I didn’t know it.

Then again, football/coaching ain’t my profession.

Are you saying we shouldn't question or discuss what goes on among the coaching staff when making game decisions and play calls?

Why even go to a sports message board if this is how you feel?

I enjoy rational discussion on any board.

Is it not fair to criticize some bad coaching decisions? Those 3 calls greatly impacted the game. CSP still called a great game, but those 3 plays were high risk and ended up hurting us.
