Carr played some damn good football down the stretch

Did you watch the games or just checked the box scores... Carr missed on way too many important passes this year... checked the ball down short of the sticks probably 50+ times this year...

Carr is the best QB in Saints history, not named Brees

Understand he has a high passer rating bc of good completion and int rates. High completion % is great if you aren’t 21st in yards per attempt. And it’s great to protect the football but doesn’t really matter when you can’t score

Saints defenses with Dennis Allen have been top notch

They had some good defenses, not historic all time defense like 2000 Ravens

This year they fell off, Can Jordan/TMatthieu finally declined. We’ll be back to top ten though quick, hopefully top 5

How, exactly are they getting to a top 5 defense? Are old players going to revert back to their mid 20s?

I mean its Brees and then honestly trash. Saying Carr is best of the trash qbs isn’t someone you pay and build around.

Not disputing that but everyone assuming the next drew (a generational talent) would just walk through the door is insane

That wont happen immediately but you can’t just give up finding that guy and run with mediocrity either. I don’t think this regime thinks of building a team to win the superbowl- they think of barely squeezing into the playoffs. That’s part of the problem.

As a Saints fan you're hoping he's the QB who showed up in the last 5 games. Kirk Cousins-esque. The others games were mostly trash. An optimist would chalk it up to a bad o-line and getting adjusted to a new system and players.

justin jefferson did wonders for kirk cousins

can malik nabers do the same for derek carr?

Guess none of Brees stats from their 7-9 seasons with him at the helm don’t count either then

Literally backtracking. You thght we didnt have a second rounder, and posted it. Cant undo it now bud. You arent fit to be a GM. Stop being delusional.

You mean at the very end of the Brees era when we held on too long? Yeah, look at how elite we've been since that playoff game against the Rams.

Very elite.

We went 12-4 the next year clown. Literally couldve won the Super Bowl if the NFL wasnt gifting it to Tom Brady. My God man. Are you completely dumb?

Then Brees retired, Jameis tore his ACL next year when we were rolling and we went 9-8, SP retired, etc.

I think those were the biggest factors. Not your “cap predictions.” Which never came to fruition seeing as how we were 12th in the NFL in dead cap this year. Not last like you predicted.

It would've been smart if they would've hit on both players.

That’s the thing about Carr imo. He can play just good enough (and in some games play really well) to make teams want him and make excuses for how he could work in a different setting/system….then he gets there and it’s the same old same old.

My fear is between Carrs flashes of brilliance and lazy arse management of the saints, we are stuck in purgatory for this decade barring a miracle a la Jayden etc.
