$10-15 per year won't even buy you another year of Jameis in this market.
No one is giving Jameis 10-15 a year lol.

This at best gives you a temporary band-aid on a aging roster with tons of cap problems
How is this an aging roster? Davis and Cam are the only older good players. Everyone on offense, receivers oline rbs minus Ingram are all under 30. Secondary was really young until we signed honey Badger and let go Ceedy.
So two older players on the entire roster make this an aging roster?

Carr is a definite no. We just got a #1 back, it would be a waste on him.

I would wait until he's cut and then try and sign him.
Yeah he and MT13 aren't going to get traded. They'll be FAs and teams will take that cap hit. Nobody is giving up assets for those contracts.

What are you basing this on, Thomas restructure?
Talking about FO not wanting to stay over the cap year after year or do you mean something else?

Imagine Devonte Adams and Michael Thomas on the same team. That’s a legit WR room.
Who will play opposite of devonte? Thomas is having the longest period in history

Yes, thomas wouldn’t make it out of the room to the field

FO not wanting to kick can down the road anymore statement

He would be an upgrade, but at the current price and state of the team, no way.
Cut him, sign to cheaper deal im ok with.
He doesn't have a ton of options.

Carr would walk in and start for any team in the NFC South .. he surely has options and will not take a discount.

Well I know of one sh!ttastic Div that has 4 teams and all could use a upgrade at QB
Thats a start.

Dennis Allen and Mickey Loomis are going to set this franchise back years by acquiring a mid-level QB when they already have the same player in Dalton.

Why would you trade for an average QB that has relieved of his duties. This doesn’t make any sense. He’s no longer a Raider all things considered. So why give up anything for someone whose not even on the team?
Maybe a conditional 7th to make sure nobody else beat you in free agency?
And I like Carr. I want the Saints to get him.
There’s no reason to trade for him tho

We’d be getting by far the best QB we have had since Drew Brees and that would make you “melt your arse off”? It’s one thing if they overpay for him, but for the right price, he’s a great option at this stage.
I don’t understand this need some of you have to want to bring in an average qb to keep the team in the middle of the pack.
Salary cap is fricked and needs to be fixed. Lame duck head coach. Potentially two absolute studs qb’s in 2024 draft. And y’all want to get Derek Carr in hopes of keeping this thing going in the path it is right now?
If they give up first round picks for a guy who’s about to be cut, this organization can go frick itself. They already tried hanging on a year longer than they should have.

Unless we liquidate our current assets, our team going into next year is too good to bottom out and get a top 5 pick next year. Our roster, with any QB, will get us 5-7 wins, even with our shitty coaches.

They aren’t going into the season playing some rookie 3rd round QB because skyscreaming saints fans want them to tank
This is exactly what should happen. I believe in drafting qb’s until you hit on one. If they want to use a third or fourth rounder on a qb this year, cool. Throw him out there.
Either he shows you something, or team is awful. Hey, maybe he shows you something but you still get high pick to use for something else.
Under no circumstances should they be spending money or assets on an average qb who will keep the team right in the middle.

I would actually love to have Carr but with our current cap situation I’d rather run it back with Dalton and a rook or 2.
