How many drops? Or quits?

Shaking my head wondering why I needed to ask that question...

it seemed like there were a lot of passes to receivers with a defender right on top of them. Ive noticed with carr that when he throws it to the WR it is right to their body rather being thrown to a spot that would allow the WR to catch it with some separation.

I chalk it up to carr still not being on the same page with receivers, which is a problem this far into the season. He also seems to wait until a receiver has almost finished his break or main route before he decides to throw it to them or not. A veteran QB, even if in his first yr with a new team, should know whether or not they will be open well before that.

I like to look at the Xcomp stat or expected completion percentage. It's basically a stat that says if the ball is placed correctly then you can expect a completion. It's a way to measure Qb Accuracy.

Carr is 23rd in the league this year and has always been low on this stat. Basically Carr is not as accurate with the ball as other QB's and doesn't hit the expected catch window as much as other QB's.

This especially is an issue on his longer throws as your incompletion stat points out.

It’s an amazing thing to see but people quit on guys who either
1) Don’t motivate them
2) Don’t show signs of being a winner

It’s really a shame but Carr is not that good, and a far cry from the motivational Drew.

We can blame Carmichael all we want but the QB has to win the game at some point.
He is an average guy who sinks under pressure. Some thrive and that’s who becomes your champions.

I was at the game and Olave noticeably quit on several routes, with a few of them being balls thrown to him.

Coming into the season, Carr was rated near the top of the list as a "deep ball threat" according to one article I read. Here's what has become abundantly clear, our receivers scare no one. Teams blitz a lot because of our on-line and because they can play man coverage. While Shaheed is fast, he is no threat as an everyday route runner. Remember, Deonte Harty was fast, but he didn't scare a defense. Thomas is a 5-10 yd receiver and we may have overreacted in regards to Olave's breakout rookie year. Mix that with an inaccurate QB and you get the results we have been seeing. This is why a running game and good tight end is needed.

They're being generous with that 33 yard throw that Olave supposedly quit on. That ball was landed well out of bounds. Carr being upset with Olave after basically just throwing the ball away was pretty funny.

Our wrs are good. Carr is missing them. There are several plays you can see that. WR separation is not the issue. In fact there are several times Shaheed, Olave and Thomas have made incredible catches to save Carr’s shitty throw. Is Olave not giving full effort and Shaheed running wrong routes- yes. Have both including Thomas made incredible catches this season based off poorly thrown balls by Carr- this is also true.

He loves peppering those long sideline routes on predetermined reads

This is a perfect example of this. A play where Olave gets blamed but should he??

Carr waits too long to pass. By the time he makes a decision to throw, the receiver is covered. He is too slow.

thats a defensive action because he has no idea if the WR will do what they are supposed to do or go the opposite direction and its an interception.

carr delaying his throws is greatly reducing the picks but its killing the drives as well, but he really has no other choice and must do it.

why are you pretending to be this stupid?

he had to throw an interception or throw it OOB because olave decided he wasnt going to try on that play.

i guess you think he should have thrown the interception instead?

clearly that video shows, if he runs full speed, and keeps running full speed, he catches it and runs for a TD.

but lets blame carr for olave quitting on the play

He "had" to throw it OB? Really? Walk me through that logic.

What's funny to me is Carr was missing throws all fricking night and you think on this deep ball he perfectly placed it out of bounds on purpose

you have to do that when the WR doesnt know whether to go left or right, guess wrong and its intercepted, so he waits to see what the WR will do
