Dalton was signed to be a backup. You arent getting a starter quality for what you are paying him. Daniel jones is getting 40 million per. It is what it is

Let the Carr dick riders make their excuses. We’ll be getting the last laugh come early December when the Saints are still ~.500 or below.
If you get off on this team being bad you are just a shite fan.

Is this what passes for intelligent post now? Seems to be a slew of homo erotic references around here of late. I hope its a temporary phase.

Why would any saints fans be happy the saints had a disappointing season?
There's always those that fandom takes a back seat to being proven right among complete strangers. How weird

I dont understand why some of these people even follow the team.

I could see a 9-8 run if they completely mortgage the future and go 7-10 twice before clearing house

Just hoping for something in between but if he is a flop we can call him Chrissie Carr.

Are you actually trying to say Jim Everett was better than Bobby Hebert??

You do realize these are the kinds of posts that get bumped and become a laughing stock, right?

31 year old QB in the 90s to a 31 year old QB in 2023 is apples and oranges. Jim Everett was probably hit on like half of his dropbacks, his entire career. When he got to the Saints, he was already long in the tooth with a breaking down body. David Carr is basically a fresh faced college kid compared to 90s Jim Everett.

I’d feel SO MUCH better about this situation if our coaching staff didn’t suck balls.

I am not sure Derek is better than Dalton. Seriously. Carr had Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs that could actually run the ball this past season & he was such a liability that they benched him the last two games.
How does LV's OL factor into that equation?

A NFC championship game was just played and the QBs were Hurts, Purdy and Johnson.
There are also much better teams built around all of these guys than the Saints have. A QB is a critical piece, but cannot do it all alone. The Saints are not currently in a spot to make any kind of run, we need fresh blood and depth as well as a QB. Our ceiling right now is win a bad division and get boatraced in the playoffs like Tampa Bay.

Carr is better than at least 2 of them
Debatable. What is “better” exactly, he’s flashier? Certainly questionable when it comes to results. Purdy and Hurts both have more playoff games and wins in significantly less time in the NFL. One was an MVP candidate this year and one a rookie surprise that could have a nice future ahead, time will tell.

Why would you be hoping for this to happen?

Where are you getting I'm hoping for the Saints to do poorly? Expecting them to do poorly =/= hoping for them to do poorly.
You guys act like anyone who is against an Allen/Carr pairing is a moron, a negasaint or whatever, but at the end of the day we have a head coach with a career 28% winning percentage and a quarterback who had his worst season last year after the Raiders gave him Davante Adams.
Further, Carr has never won anything of note, has just 2 winning seasons in 9 years, and is going to an offense with less skill talent. We're never going to win a game because we have Derek Carr; we're not going to look back at a game and go "man, we don't win that without Carr."
I had a vested interest in watching Carr this past year. I watched every single Raiders game. Carr is not good. He was downright cringeworthy at times, going long stretches without even looking at or targeting the best WR in the game.

He’s probably better than Dalton. That isn’t saying much though.

Saying you will have the last laugh is a poor choice of phrasing. It can be inferred that you have staked out a position that will give you joy if it comes to pass.

I am not in any way saying Carr is a good choice or implying that you are a moron, I just didn't like the phrasing. Honestly, I probably should have kept that to myself but here we are.
For what it is worth, I do not think Carr is the QB of the future but I also think he may be as good or better than Dalton. Only time will tell if this even happens, though.
Apologies for being snarky, it really was unwarranted.

Carr is not a great decision maker under pressure or a clutch winner.
since derek carr came into the league in 2014, he leads the nfl in comebacks(28) and game winning drives(33).

Jim Everett Played pretty damn well for us, if we are being honest. He was still a top 10 QB, even with our shitty arse team.
