He should have been the guy to replace Sean. I’d have rather Sean left a year earlier and we promoted Campbell than have Sean for 2021. He’s really turned a perpetual dumpster fire of an organization around into a team that is fun to watch play. He would have been such a better leader than DA for all his talents as a DC he’s no head coach. I thought Campbell would be a Coach O type guy that’s all rah rah but not as much about the details but he’s proven me wrong making great coaching hires and has drafted outstanding. The Detroit OL might be the best in the NFL.

100% agreed. I'm buying what Campbell and the Lions are selling. They have a really good YouTube series on their channel also - Inside the Den. They draft well, are gritty, and have a clear vision for how they want to build their roster and the type of players they like. It's been really impressive.

I’ve been impressed with him so far as well. I didn’t see it when he was hired, TBH.

I'll reserve props if they can succeed after their super coordinator leaves.

Yeah Saints need to go get Ben Johnson if Allen shits the bed again this year.

We should have went after Demeco Ryans after DA couldn’t win the dumpster fire south last year…

Like I said in the threads before we hired Allen, Harbaugh should have been the hire. Pederson was my number two guy.

Went to the NFC championship or superbowl 3 out of 4 years with crap at qb.

The Lions had a pretty awful defense last year. If they can turn it around on that side of the ball then they should take that next step.

hindsight is 20/20, no one and I mean no one saw his success in making the Lions respectable coming.

Dan was going to be a head coach again the day we hired him. I think most of the post around here then said much the same thing. Its too bad the timing was just off he would have been hired as HC of that I have little doubt. Its just not that we "let him go".

I am pretty sure Campbell inherited him, too, so it's not like he made some magical hire from another team.

Anything is better than Allen but Campbell doesn’t have staying power either imo

no, but to their credit, they have a lot of former players on their coaching staff, more than most, if not all, other teams... i think there's something to this and their success, as well

Dan was about to be fired last season before he turned it around and showed some life mid season. I like him as a coach but he isn’t no world beater. I am cheering for him and I hope he has a good season but he can just as likely implode and be fired after this season. He is just lucky that Amon RA became a star because nobody in the nfl was expecting that. If not then he probably would have been fired last season bc they had nothing else really.
