Curious as to how Taysom Hill feels about Winston.

On a pure football level this makes complete sense having a talented guy behind Drew so Taysom can play other positions but I wonder if he feels a bit mislead by the team. Odds are if Drew went down Winston plays over Taysom and Hill but you gotta think Taysom believed he would be the first guy to play in case Drew got hurt. I hope this doesn’t mess with their plans of making Taysom the future starter but things look awfully murky right now.

This was never going to happen. His current role is perfect. Make him the full time starter and he's just another Tebow with better throwing mechanics.

I don’t think so either, but there was/is a tiny chance. What there was absolutely zero chance of ever happening, was going into a season with him being the #2.

Tebow was one of the most clutch 4th quarter qbs of all time during the one season he got to start. If Hill could be a better Tebow for all 4 quarters the Saints would dominate.

I don’t get why people are so convinced that he’s not. Personally, I’d like to see him stay in his role, but I think Payton is going to give him a shot at it. Payton and Mickey hint at it in interviews all the time.

If I’m taysom I’m slashing Payton’s tire today. He’s a much better player than Mr. Crab legs

The only reason he had those opportunities is because that defense was so dominate and kept games close. Get behind 2 scores and you were screwed, like the Patriots showed in the playoffs.

Saints gave Taysom a chance, made him a little money, and set him up for future work. No other team was prepared to give him that chance

The Tommy Stevens pick makes sense for when Hill walks

Because he’ll be 31 going into next season. And at BYU, where he started for 4 seasons and 1 game in a 5th (got injured and a medical redshirt), he only played 6, 13, 5, 1, and 12 games respectively. Only threw 43 tds (to 31 interceptions) and has a career completion % of 58.2.

He just hasn’t played a whole lot of quarterback for an NFL starter. Not that Payton couldn’t develop him into a serviceable one, but the odds are very much stacked against him.

Saints picks up Winston and drafts a Hill type kid. Writing is on the wall man. Sean definitely sending a message to Taysom.

Well it will free up Sean to play hill more in 2020, thus upping his value next off-season. So I'm sure he'll get over it

The guy that gave him a chance in the NFL and helped him become a millionaire after 4 season-ending injuries in college, not getting drafted, and being cut by the Packers before the beginning of his rookie season? You’d be slashing that guy’s tires?
