These are great. The guy was obviously a great person and teammate.

Which makes it even more absurd that he got absolutely publicly trashed by his team mates for saying something that was never meant to be hurtful or disrespectful to anyone.

Drew deserved better

He still deserves better. All of the fake fans roasting Drew for being "spineless" are attacking the wrong person.

You don't attack the victims of a crime for eventually giving into the criminals' demands because there is no other way to survive. "How dare that bank teller open the safe at gunpoint!"

He's not a public intellectual. He's a football player. He was outgunned.

I agree with you. It all started with the ugly overreactions from Drew’s teammates. But Drew over reacted to his teammates over reaction. And then “conservative” fans over reacted to Drew’s over reaction.

I mostly blame the media for pushing hard any narrative or story that will divide the people of this country. What happened to the Saints and Drew Brees is the perfect microcosm of what is wrong with this country today.

Here’s what Jimmy Graham tweeted
quote:

@drewbrees what a legacy! I’m proud to be one of your greatest creations. I’m grateful everyday for the confidence you instilled in me from my first day to our last. I’m still heart broken ?? the last was too soon! Now bring the kids it’s time to learn to fly with uncle JG ??????

The people......I don’t even know what to call it.....vilifying??.....Drew last night on this forum should take note of what Benjamin Watson and Reggie Bush said. Those were the words of people who knew and respected what a great player, teammate, and person Drew Brees was/is to them and so many others. The ugly things said about him after the game (which everyone was disappointed about, and no more so than Drew Brees) were shameful and sad. I’m glad to see more level headed and rational comments today. (I’m assuming the drunk idiots are still asleep)

Reading all those well wishes from former teammates, that’s all I can think about.

Honestly I don’t think I’ll ever get past that. Mike Thomas especially.

Well at least Graham seems to be self aware now.

I am no one special here. Drew Brees cared about his teammates and his family. I believe his heart has been in the right place all along. We have a good man that was with this city and state through horrific times. I will always love Drew. A gentleman and class act.

Thomas (along with Jenkins) was the biggest bitch in the whole thing and he produced the least when it was all on the line yesterday. Zero catches.

Also, Payton didn't say anything during that time when teammates shite on Drew just for having a different opinion. Payton had no problem speaking out and getting political though. He didn't show any leadership during the Brees thing.

There was nothing Payton could say to fix that situation.

No one said he was going to fix the situation. But he could have at least spoke up and defended Brees knowing the person he is, knowing how much he helped people in the city and knowing where he was coming from based on Drew's statement. But no, the head coach and leader of the team stayed completely silent and let the bashing continue.

This is exactly what made me lost me as a fan. I know, I’m a nobody to the Saints so it doesn’t really matter, but seeing how the organization flatly refused to stand up for the man that has done so much for them made me angry. At least stand up for his character and integrity.

No one. Not Sean, not Loomis, not Gayle, none of them stood up for Brees in that moment. That showed their true colors. It showed me how scared everyone is of this ‘woke’ cancel culture the world is experiencing. I watched the playoff but it won’t be the same for me probably ever again. I miss it, but I don’t regret focusing on other aspects of life.

Thanks for the memories, Drew.

Where were these players comments before the season when Drew needed their support?
