Counterintuitive: this should make them LESS likely to draft a QB early

Our team lacks talent.
This is not the best QB draft.
With Carr a guy could have sat for a year to learn while Carr took a beating.
With Carr we are probably mediocre. Without him and Rattler or a Rookie starting we are probably VERY bad.
Be bad. Start Rattler or whatever shitty vet is on the market. Maybe Draft a QB in rounds 4-7 to take Haener’s sport and develop if you really want
Work on the roster, add offensive talent this year and next. Draft a QB next year.

No first year coach is willingly going 0-17 with no answers at QB. He's guaranteed to be fired and I highly doubt he's interested in tanking his professional career so the next guy can have a better QB

Not exactly a ton of options out there. Even with Carr we’re likely hovering around .500 at a ceiling. We will absolutely be picking in the top 10 in hopefully a much better qb draft

Completely agree. With so many needs on the roster, they’re not going to get a proper evaluation of the QB they take.
The allure of taking QB this year, at least to me, was having them sit for a year behind Carr while he takes all the lumps and hits from a shitty team with NEXT year and another draft class potentially giving the drafted QB a higher chance to succeed. Now that that option is probably removed from the board (whoever they draft will get the nod over Rattler) then I think it’s better to use our picks this year on just acquiring some talent (probably making unsexy OL and DL picks.)

This. If you trust Kellen Moore then give him an opportunity to work with Rattler. If it doesn't work out, the opportunity to draft a QB high will be there in a much deeper 2026 QB class.

I think they have to sign or trade for a veteran at this point. Can’t roll into a 17 game season with Rattler and Haener as your only bodies (assuming no early round pick).
