gonna be interesting to see how a 30 year old coach holds all of these personalities together.

We got a 1st and 3rd for cooks and 4th
We made out better but he’s now only a year out from FA

Still don't care. Rams are trying to make impact decisions in the FO and they are paying top dollar for every one of them. Plus the relationship was more strained with Cooks and the NO front office than it is with Cooks and the Patriots. We simply had less leverage in the negotiation, also we got good value out of the pick in RR (who was a major reason we had the season we did).

Pats have the goat front office, that is why they win like they do.

You're kidding me. They got a higher 1st round pick than we did.
Partly because of the 4th rounder (6th rounders aren't worth much). The value to jump from 32 to 23 is close to a 4th (late 3rd/early 4th iirc).
But being that he needs to get paid (I think he costs about $9 mil this year and it's his last year) it's surprising. They must be locking him up long term, otherwise this was a stupid trade for the Rams.
Good work by the Pats.

You know what's funny about this trade? The Rams could really get screwed if Cooks goes prima donna in LA this year and decides to test free agency. Think about giving up all of that AND not locking up the player long term. Granted, that is not super likely (I agree, he will likely be there for a while with this trade), but think how bad it would be for their GM if that did happen. Dude is rolling the dice big-time with two big free agents with a proven history of being disliked by other players. This is the type of thing that derails a team from making that next step.

Yeah if they didn't at least talk to Cooks/his agent about a long term deal before making this trade then that is extremely stupid on their part.
Getting a one year, slightly expensive rental for a first and fourth would be the epitome of being the Browns.

If I'm not mistaken, this is earlier than when they got Sammy last year. He'll at least get to camp with them.
His complaining would more likely come from the fact that they'll have to pass less with that defense.

Patriots played this like champs.
They were never paying him and neither were we.
Rams are dumb to pay cooks what he wants but I'm sure he will have a great year in that Mcvay off.
Just think if the saints drafted another Steph Anthony instead of ram how pissed everyone would be right now.
Ain't it great we got a beastly tackle for little Brandin and now the patriots did the same and will get a great player at 23.
Brandin sure is being passed around like a little sloot lol

Cooks must have the attitude of T.O. mixed with the talent of Devery Henderson. He’s a glorified clearout WR but someone will pay him as a #1

outside of getting mad once Cooks has never been a locker room problem... I cant tell if this is salt or delusion sheesh

Brandin Cooks has 1,000 Rec yds & 7 TD in each of the last 3 seasons. The only other player in the NFL to hit those marks every year since 2015 is Antonio Brown

& Cooks is still younger than Michael Thomas

Well, if he ever was, won’t he always be?

Maybe the Pats want to try and get OBJ. Worked out good when they got Moss. They didnt have to give up much for Moss though. The Giants want alot for OBJ

Belichek and baker mayfield... make it happen

They're realizing he's a limited player. Elite deep threat with great hands, but he's horrible at yac

I never understood this type of trade. Regardless of what was discussed between the team and his agent, nothing is settled until the ink is dry. If anything they shifted even more leverage into Cooks' hands in the contract negotiation. If the Rams let Cooks walk next year, think of the fallout from this entire trade... They are going to have to pay Cooks some insane cash when this is all said and done.

YAC is still a path to total yardage, tranny. Whether the guy is running or the ball is traveling in the air. There is a reason YAC stats are dominated by RBs and slot WRs
You want to truly digest the YAC beasts start by measuring it with guys who are at 14 - 15+ yards per catch. Those are your true elites - AB, Julio, Odell, Tyreek
You have your Jarvis Landry's who post nice YAC numbers but cant crack 1k yards. It aint all about YAC, it's about getting down the field
