Eagles 2022 First
Saints 2022 3rd rounder (101)
Saints 2023 first
Saints 2024 second
Saints 2022 third (98)
Saints 2022 fourth
All of the above were used to draft him.
You can look at it like we moved up from the third round this year to the Eagles #16 first. To move up from that third round to #11 cost us 5 additional picks….
How’d I do professor?

Anyone knows the difference between ESPN and abc? ABC made him look like a monster. ESPN made him look like a project that needed a lot of coaching

Yup. I love the pick but how we got there is expensive. And what’s crazy is we went up 5 spots to 11 and Detroit went up 20 spots to 12 for not much more than we paid.

Very expensive and Saints need to somehow take the division next season

So is George Pickens who will most likely prove to be one of the top 3 WRs in this draft. Should have traded back with 16th pick, got some additional picks and taken Pickens.

I view it as we essentially gave up a future 2nd, 2 3rds, @and a 4th to move our 2023 1st up to #11 overall in 2022.
As with any trades in the draft, it's worth it if he contributes heavily on a team that ultimately wins the division and is a contender for the conference. Makes you a competitor and moves our 2023 pick back to high 20s or 30s.

Higher ceiling for sure. But he may not be ready until November.
Of the reasons to not like Jameson, this is the dumbest.
1. It’s an ACL, your timetable is probably off. The way guys bounce back these days, wouldn’t be shocked at all if he’s participating in camp.
2. Who cares if he is out until then if he’s your guy? This isn’t fantasy football where you only have him for one season, you still have him for another 4 years. NFL GMs don’t think like that
Now clearly Williams was not our guy as we could have taken him and did not. Just saying I doubt his injury had anything to do with it

Watch how having him opposite Thomas is going to open our offense up.
Thomas is gonna play?

Why would you have preferred jameson williams over olave?
Speed kills.
I'm happy with Olave but his potential isn't close to Williams. Williams has elite, WR1 potential. He has the best game breaking speed since Ty Hill.
Olave projects more likely to max out around Brandin Cooks. If he does that, it would be great...but not Hill

And to get a second first round pick this year... We only had the one pick at 18 before these trades. We ended up with Olave at #11 and Penning at #19 giving up all of that. Not just Olave at #11.

Certainly ACL tears aren't the career killers they used to be. But when a player's top attributes are raw speed and suddenness, there is still probably a bit of concern about what is still considered a serious knee injury. If Williams is not as fast and quick coming off the injury then he's not the same player you coveted in the draft.
Given the Saints' success with Ohio St. players and the fact that the guy they took, Olave, was one was of the guys who kept Williams off the field at OSU, I can understand why the Saints would go in that direction. Love them or hate them, Ohio St. has been a great pipeline for New Orleans

I think he's the most explosive WR in this class. When healthy, he's top 5 type of athlete.
And yet he transferred because he couldn’t pass Olave or Wilson on the depth chart at tOSU. Are you sure you’re not guilty of SEC bias? The scouts obviously saw Wilson and Olave as better prospects just like the coaches in Columbus did. Why on earth would you think that you know better?
