Just watched his highlights and he reminded me of Wes Chandler. Smooth glider, great hands and body control. Some of you guys might remember him. I’m older so 2 minutes in Wes pops in my head.

That’s an incredibly misinformed post. Barrett was the established starter and had Urban’s trust. He won a lot of games. In every game, you start the QB who gives you the best chance of winning that game, who has earned the starting spot. Not the guy who might later develop into a better player. At least not when you’re challenging for championships. When you’re trying to rebuild a struggling program then that’s a different story.

If Barrett had been a more talented athlete then he would’ve gone to the NFL sooner and Joe would’ve taken over the starting job. If I cared enough to take the time I could point to a post on a Buckeye board in 2016 where I said that if I didn’t know better, I’d think that Burrow was the starting QB over Barrett and Haskins. I could also point to a post I made saying I wished Burrow would be given the starting job over Haskins (RIP) in 2018.

The only reason Joe lost the starting job was due to injury and the fact that Dwayne came into the 2017 Michigan game after Barrett got injured and led the team to a comeback victory. It is what it is. Dwayne had a record breaking season in 2018 but I doubt that Joe wouldn’t have done the same. He knew the offense and could throw the ball accurately and on time. He didn’t have the arm strength that Haskins did but he was more mobile and a better fit in Meyer’s offense which favored a running QB.

But beating Michigan is strong currency in Buckeye land and Joe saw the writing on the wall. He wasn’t willing to take the risk and did what was best for him. And Buckeye fans cheered for him all the way.

Jameson Williams didn’t fail to get playing time over Wilson and Olave because of injury. They were just better than him. The comparison to “Burroe,” you college football aficionado, isn’t remotely similar and you should feel embarrassed for making that sorry argument. That and because you can’t spell “Burrow.”
