I am sure he did say that. It is mutually beneficial to Cam and the org for him to say that.
Nonetheless, I am glad he is still in the building, and I hope he does get a ring here.

Because it obviously not much he’s getting offered . It’s likely 4 million without invented and 500k or even a million isn’t enough to fully relocate your life and not start.

Not only that but for 6 figures I think there’s some value in “career saint” instead of “saint minus that one weird season the end”
Likely helps both his HOF case and post career endorsements unless a true Super Bowl contender was willing to pay him

I think he needs 7 to get into the top 10 of sacks all time but I think he should get in regardless. I know sacks are they stats most people look at but I think it should matter that Cam was complete DE, who played the run as well as he rushed the passer.

He needs 1 sack to pass Leslie O'Neal and Lawrence Taylor for 15th place. 6 sacks to pass Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware for 9th place. 8 sacks to pass Jason Taylor and Terrell Suggs for 7th place. If he duplicates last season, he passes Michael Strahan for 6th place. Cam has been special.

Just saw that he's still out there as a FA and "trying" to sign with a team. I suspect someone will offer him something, so I am not counting on Cam passing him up unless he's not on a roster come W1.
I have not paid that much attention to how they spin the stats to suggest someone gets in or not, but now that they have unofficially quantified sacks back to 1960; I wonder which list they'll use when having these discussions. Cam is officially 17th overall, but he is unofficially 22nd in total sacks. He needs 9.5 sacks to tie Strahan and crack the top 10 if Von doesn't play, will need 10 to tie LT if Von plays and gets at least 2 sacks

Cam was just on GMFB. Said he is approaching this season as his last. He said the defensive line has a bunch of dogs and he would have felt bad/left out if he wasn’t part of it. Said he wants to win and it doesn’t matter if he’s only there to be a coach to the younger guys.
Gotta say I’m really glad he’s back. He’s a great leader and even though he’s older and wasn’t a full time starter last year, he still led us in sacks, TFL and QB hits.

Another 10 sack season cements him as a first ballot HOFer. He will jump up to 6th all time in sacks.
