He falls down instead of trying to make a play. The equipment manager needs to clean his locker out and leave a red tag hanging in it.

Joe shite da Ragman. He can play off the ball 30 yards then get his ankles and knees buckled anytime somebody gets close to him.

Let Vonn bell play and take the lumps with the rest of the secondary this year. That way next year they are all seasoned and hopefully we get out top 2 corners back. Then we can possibly be somewhat competitive against the opponents wide receivers.

It's obvious the injuries took their toll on his athleticism.

Need to grab less players from Buffalo and more players from San Diego/Cleveland.

I know most here agree with you. Here is the thing about Byrd, he is a coverage FS, he never was a great tackler, hard hitter type FS. Go back and remember 2014, when we gave up big plays over and over in key moments. Think 49ers on like 4th and 20 with under 2 minutes to go and gave up that big play, happened alot that year. You don't see that stuff with Byrd back there, as far as passing and back end breakdowns. I'm not speaking of a CB getting beat in one on one down the field, I'm talking complete breakdowns in crucial moments.

Yea, Byrd does whiff in the run game some, he is also, put in that situation way more than your avg FS is b/c of our LBs and Dline inability to stop the run. Byrd made those whiffs with the Bills also. I just don't see him as a liability. I agree, we overpaid for what he has done. I also think, he could do alot better with a good pass rush. Good FSs turn into average ones with nonexistent pass rush. I know most here think he is playing poorly but I'd have to say, as far as coverage, which is why he is here and what he excels at, he is playing decent. You don't see his man or "area" getting many catches. Our Dline and LBs could definitely play better though.

Pull people off practice squads

Have an open tryout

Take anyone who will hustle and not fall down when a guy is running toward them. That was turrible.

How is he not a liability? He literally plays in another zipcode than the rest of the defense and I cant remember a single pass that he has actually defended. The guy is a waste of space.

They don't throw the ball at him very much.

You actually just confirmed what the other poster was saying. Where a player lines up in solely on the DC, Byrd doesn't get to choose how far back to play.

We have few healthy bodies and Byrd is one.

He will be gone next year as will the grim reaper of injuries. Have pre booked him at a room in atl next year.
