Well that's quite ridiculous. I truly find it hard to see your logic, especially after a playoff game that Drew threw 3 INTs in This ain't 2011 Drew, this is 2021 41yr old Drew. Take the homer glasses off. It is possible to still love Drew and appreciate all he did for us, and say he's not our best option at the same time yea

It’s not ridiculous at all. I watched the games all year, never once did I think Brees needed to be benched for Winston. The knowledge that Brees had a torn rotator cuff doesn’t change that.

Let’s not forget that Sean Payton sent Drew Brees in the second half of a game that he broke several ribs and had a collapsed lung in the first half

Nope, he got pulled at
halftime

Nope he pulled himself at the beginning of the second half.

Did he continue to play in the first half after the injury? I don’t remember.

He went to Sean Payton and said he couldn’t play.

Sean looked visibly disappointed on the sidelines.

Doesn’t even make any sense. The problem with Jameis is he turns the ball over too much. But that’s exactly what Brees did. However, unlike Brees, Winston is also capable of throwing it deep with frequency. He’s also able to make some plays with his legs. This is not the elite Brees anymore.

Brees did turn the ball over on Sunday but that’s not what he had done all year and if Cook doesn’t fumble we’re going to be playing with a lead in the 4th quarter, If we’re leading in the 4th Q we’re probably running the ball more and not making risky throws like the 2 late INTs.

He played until the end of the 1st half, you said Sean sent him out in the 2nd half, which is wrong.
I’m not sure why you’re putting any of this on Sean, he’s not a Dr. he had no idea that Brees broke his ribs.

Drew with a torn rotator cuff is better than Taysom and I’d trust him 99/100 in a playoff game over Jameis.

Seems like Sean Payton thought so.
Why didn’t the genius put in one of his two franchise QB’s in the games over and aged and injured Drew?

Brees has had some turnover problems in the playoffs. Brees also hasn’t had that many big plays the whole year. The Bucs were stacking the box the whole game because they know Brees can’t go deep with consistency anymore. At his age, he’s also very injury prone. Brees is done. He’s basically going to be like P. Manning his last season except he’s unlikely to have a monster defense dragging him to the playoffs.

You said Drew was pulled.
You are wrong.

Drew pulled himself.
Sean did send him out to play.

I’m not a HC or a doctor, but I remember when Drew got up after the hit, you could tell there was something wrong...very wrong you could see it in his face.

How the HC and the medical staff sent him back in to play and then were willing to send him in to play in the second half is beyond me.

Pulled or pulled himself is 1. Semantics and 2. We don’t know exactly what went into the decision or who made the call. If the training staff said he was good to go why would Payton take him out of the game?

Not in the 2nd half like you said though. You were incorrect

Well if you were a HC you probably wouldn’t take your HOF QB out because he took a hard hit, if the medical staff says he’s good to go you’d probably listen to them. And when he went out there and led a TD drive and didn’t throw 1 incomplete pass, you’d probably assume he was ok.

No
You are incorrect.

It has nothing to do with semantics.

Drew had to go to Sean Payton and tell him he could not play.

Drew was not pulled by Sean Payton or the medical staff.
Both are problems.

I'm sorry, but if an SB-caliber roster started a QB who could barely throw the ball over a healthy Jameis Winston, then that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Are we trying to win games, no matter what, or protect legacies? Good God.

When I began reading the article, I thinking the same thing, why the hell is this guy on the field. It was very easy for the Bucs to defend a very limited QB. All players want to be on the field, but this calls Payton’s coaching ability into question. The only successful deep ball was Winston’s on the trick play.

Depending upon the extent of the injury you can play with a torn rotator cuff if you can handle the pain. Same with torn fascia.

You think maybe, just maybe the backup qbs wanted Brees to play?

Winston knows his shot is coming
Hill got his money and the chance to win games.

The knock on him all year was he didn't know the playbook in practice. SP trust rusty broken Brees more than young fresh Winston.

Winston has never had a good oline like we have. Put any QB behind a shite oline with time and they will all make questionable decisions with the 1 second they have.

Must be hard for Brittany to come to grips that she will no longer be relevant, unless, she forces her husband to buy her some more investment jewelry again and have it go sideways.
