It’s not 1980

People come back stronger than ever inside of 12 months after acl injuries now.

He’s not coming off a major injury. His knee was fine last season.

His sister passed away and he has a kidney infection as well. Not “injured”.

I will bet my left kidney this guy will deal with major injuries the next 3 seasons. Injury history = will
get injured in the pros!

Fine is a reach. He had acl injury. He was healthy but not his explosive self. Yes the sister passing away and kidney infection added to it but dude looked like a shell of himself last year. This is a pure gamble and not one I would have taken with the other talent still on the board.

Hot air take with no explanation. Typical. You've said nothing to back up your remark.

He can hang out with Fat Boy off season working out. Fits the dysfunctional always hurt star players in both franchises.

That’s not best player available
That’s filling a need because dt position is so thin

Breese definitely would have still been there in second round. I think he will be a decent player. I'm a big believer that in the first round at the time you pock you take the best available player no matter the position. You fill sports in the 2nd,3rd,4th,
In the first you take the best available player

He has issues, but this is exactly where he was projected (aka, not a reach)

Only because of the Saints, he wasn’t a first rounder if we don’t pick him and he likely slides to middle 2nd.

Bryan Breese is an absolute monster when he's healthy. He has violent hand, an insane motor, great size and and elite strength. I love the pick

6’5 300 with a 4.8 forty.

Also very productive in college. Awesome as a freshman (rare).

Reason he dropped torn acl as a soph (healed) and a strep throat illness that messed with his kidneys (rare) slowed him down last year.

Neither issues are heath issues that are supposed to linger.

Stfu.

DT was our biggest need. we drafted him #29. not in the top 10. Some of y'alls football IQ is extremely low.

When you are picking late in the 1st round every player is potentially a reach.... this year it's magnified bc there weren't a lot of 1st round-graded players.

So there are no reaches at 29 overall this year.

Allen likes to rotate his DT's, so Breese isn't a bad pick for this philosophy. Unless the Saints get hit with another plague of injuries, he'll hopefully develop in his rotational role. At least it wasn't another overhyped mid-major defensive end.
