This is what I don't understand. Why would the media be starting to report "serious injury" if there are people who actually saw him and talked to him today.

I don't know, I haven't seen any tweets from the people I follow that mention him having a torn rotator cuff. Just that he looked normal upon seeing him today.

To be fair, both Brees and Payton addressed that something was wrong but were very cagey about it. On the flip side, neither seemed overly concerned.
I think he's got a shoulder sprain that he will try and play through and that's about it.

I agree. It was clear yesterday that he didn't feel quite right, but that didn't keep him from throwing it into the endzone on the last plays of the game.
I'm no doctor, but I would expect to see some semblance of pain or grimace if he had a tear unless he was just that high on adrenaline.
