Attorney for passenger in Hayes' vehicle releases statement

“My client believes that Cardell saved his life." Ruffin said. "Smith had a gun and was going to shoot it and Cardell may have saved both of their lives … in my mind this is justifiable homicide. Was Will Smith acting like a Saint? This was a hit-and-run that ended up in a tragedy. You’ve got the aggression of two football players, facing off with each other as if they are on the field and you are going to get your point across by any means necessary.”

There's so much crap in that statement.
1. Do we know will was going to use it? It could have been locked in a glove compartment for all we know.
2. Was he Acting like a saint? Really?
3. Calling this 2 football players is hysterical. That would be like me and jack Nicklaus being called 2 golfers.

Whoa nah.... The more and more stuff comes out, the more credible Haynes looks. Watch! He'll stay locked up till this whole thing is over, get credit for time served, and will be out just with another illegal firearm charge.

How did he know smith had a gun? Did he see it?
Posted on 4/12/16 at 11:14 pm to 5Alive
Witness in the beginning said Smith announced it

It's a statement from the defense side, what do you expect
I'm sure Smith's lawyers will come out with something saying the exact opposite
This doesn't mean shite really

This attorney seems rough around the edges. It might be better for them if they let Hayes' attorney do the talking.

Wow why include the "Was Will Smith acting like a Saint?" part. Feels kinda douchey

Lines like this are why lawyers like this guy are some of the biggest shitheads on earth.

I still cant think of many examples of a situation where someone announces they have a gun because they are hoping to use it. I still think that statement would be used to try to deter someone, not incite them.

I hope this man's car is keyed

I would also like a statement on why he chased down Will and slammed into him if all he wanted was "to get his license plate."

Don't forget, "frick you, I have a gun too."

There is going to be physical evidence of all of this.
There was either a gun in smiths hand or not.
There was either a fender bender or not.
Guns and cars didn't disappear.
All i know is that they were by smith's car when this dude shot him. Card to say you were in fear of your life when you were walking up on a dude with a gun.

He probably doesn't have one. That's why they were joyriding in the Hummer.

yup - this is a friend of the shooter, some of the other statements came from friends of the deceased. where the truth lies we will see.... you have to take accounts from everyone with some grain of salt attitude until we find out what the physical evidence shows, and what the consistencies are in the less invested witness accounts are. so far we have nearly no physical details, and only really rough independent statements.

I really don't know who is the worse troll in these threads, you or Chad.

There are way too many unknowns to pass proper judgement at this point in time. Like every other case that hits the news, we need to step back and let the full story be known for the original reports are almost always inaccurate. It does appear Hayes was clearly the aggressor, but enough info has been coming out to cast some doubt on Smith not being one as well.
