If the Dolphins are really giving him $20 million a year there is NO WAY you can justify tying that up on a guy who just can't stay on the field

I exaggerated, but not counting his rookie year or playoff games missed, he has missed 38 games over 8 years (4.75 a year). So he really has missed close to 1/3rd of the regular season every year.
So if we were to keep him I'd want a deal tied heavily into games played, but I don't think there's any way he takes a deal like that with other suitors out there.

I’d give him $20 if it was incentive laden too but Miami seems to be ready to give him even more. You could do a base of $15 million with the ability to earn another $4-5 million if he stays on the field. Who knows maybe he would bet on himself so he doesn’t have to leave the Saints. He really does love the city and the team by all accounts and is one of the team’s unquestioned leaders along with Cam Jordan and Demario Davis.

I am going to laugh if/when the Saints do not draft an offensive lineman early. It could be that they are okay with Landon Young/Greenridge (sp?) and Throckmorton being in the rotation.

Yeah armstead has a big hand in our playoff failures, dude just couldn’t stay healthy. Dominant when he could string a couple healthy games in a row but it was just always something even when he played through it. I just can’t justify elite money when you can only be elite for a handful of games a year. Good for him getting paid, just glad it isn’t us doing it
