How would you guys feel about the gameplan we used vs the eagles and the usage Taysom got, to be basically what we decided to do all of next year?

They should have been using that more this year

It worked well because we got up early. If we're down 13-0 at half probably can't use Taysom to ice the game late.

that sounds like a 6-7 win team and stuck in NFL purgatory

The FO won't do it but its time to wave the white flag on this era and blow it up. You tried to extend it, it didn't work out.

But they could have used it to ice the Bucs game a few weeks ago and they’d be in the driver seat for the division

Oh absolutely. Could've just used Taysom on the 3rd and 1 instead of the dumbass slant. Just saying the 49ers or Steelers games we wouldn't have been able to roll that way.

They did try to do that to the bucs, and it bit them in the arse bc it wasnt minshew qbing the bucs. This method is good enough to beat inept offenses and other average teams. Its a 6-9 win philosophy. I dont see the benefit. If we are going to do it, lets at least draft a hendon hooker or someone young to grow into the offense with taysom being used as support.
Scoring 13-17 points just isnt going to work out well in the long run

i think they had to use the strategy vs. the eagles because of the pass rush of Philly going against a makeshift O-line.

might see more of it vs. the Panthers again because they can get after the QB too.

for a whole season? I don't know about all that. If your line is fully healthy and you've got a full complementary of weapons that wouldn't be necessary.

but the way things have gone injury wise the 2 seasons offensively.....

If Taysom stays healthy then it works fine. Lets see what happens with Brady. I will not pretend that the Bucs will be 8-9 or 9-8 again if he is there. If he isnt the the division is wide open.

I am in favor of the two of them back if the plan is to get the cap under control.

We may suck again in 2023 but get younger and develop depth.

Who knows? With this combo, we may have won a couple of more games (which is all we would have needed).

We were in: both TB games, Cincy game, Minn. game, and even San Fran, LV and Pitt games we had a chance.

Winning half of those (rounded down even), gives us the division and a fairly comfortable record for the year.

This is the problem. While I definitely agree we had plenty more opportunities where we should have used Taysom....he's not getting any younger and is at more risk for injury every year.

Assuming TH stays healthy, it would give us a year to work out of cap hell at a reasonable price.
