You may want to pass around the hat for the DeShawn Watson Defense Fund.

It's all a matter of at what cost. With the holes the team has and being up against the cap, I don't see how you can justify trading so many draft picks and players to get a QB. If the team was only a QB away, then maybe. But there are issues in other spots and you would probably create new issues because they will want starter caliber players.

The other question is who made the ultimate decision to sit him last year. Was it the HC that is no longer there, or the GM/Owner who thought it would be better to just pay him but not play him?

Finally, you have to see how the league will deal with the the legal complaints (I'm sure they can give teams an idea without making it public). How foolish would a team look if they give up multiple 1st, 1-2 key starters for Watson, then he gets put on an exempt list for a year.

I see your point of view but what was the main hole on the team? I’d say wide out. I was way ahead of most of you saying two years ago that we needed to draft Jefferson and was downvoted to hell and here we are now…..

But getting just MT back will help tremendously in that area. He’d likely be way more motivated having Watson throwing balls instead of someone like Hill. Look for a value based #2 in fa to compete or maybe a Pickens or Ross in the 3rd if there. WR is deep this year and a few good ones will drop to the 3rd round.

Most of you have no concept of long term outlook. With Brady retiring, and once Rodgers retires or is traded possibly this year to the AFC, Watson woukd be the best qb in the NFC. He’s better than Stafford and Murray.

Why not have the best at the most important position in football in the conference? Not to mention we should be getting picks for CSP, I’m sure we can get at least one first to help soften the blow for the compensation aspect….

But we already have our next franchise QB in the building

Remember that?

Then he quit because he knew he can’t win without a franchise QB

Remember
