I'll take the extra 1st and other picks and get a great WR and a great OT in this draft absolutely!
And in doing so, the Saints would take on a massive $22.7 million dollar cap hit putting them close to being $90 million over the 2022 salary cap.

We almost have to keep him next season

Why would you want to trade a player of Thomas's caliber when the return is so low right now with him coming off injury? This is not the time to trade him if you're wanting to receive fair value for his talent.
This x1000. Makes literally no sense from so many perspectives,
Cap - super damaging for 2022 if we trade him, effectively would remove our ability to sign anyone else
Previous investment - we'd basically get nothing for the contract he got because he's been hurt for most of it. Yes, I'm aware of the sunk cost fallacy, and I don't care. He's an elite player who is worth it if he comes back.
Needs - we need WRs badly WITH Thomas on the team, why the hell would we trade him
Value - because of all the stuff thats happened and the stupid public perception evidenced in this thread, his value is lower than ever and we'd get nowhere near what he's actually worth in return
The same idiots saying "I" in this thread will be gassing him up next season when he's shite stomping people. Or, they're just salty LSU fans who are mad that the Saints are the most beloved team in the state ...

Y'all are wanting to get rid of one the best best receivers in the game when our weakest link is at receiver. That makes zero sense from a personnel standpoint, not even factoring the crippling cap hit that we would take on. MT is going to be here next season and the season after that at least.

Because the OP thinks the NFL trading system works like Madden. Wish we could trade OP to Chicago

Callaway-Harris-Kamara top 3 saints rec. stats 2021
129-receptions 1707-yds
Michael Thomas stats 2019
149-receptions 1725-yds
If you were to trade Thomas right now the dead cap hit would be $22.7 million next year.

Exactly what kind of trade value does a WR that hasn't played in 2 years with a monster salary cap number have do you think?
A couple 7th round picks?
A couple 7th round picks?

How colossally stupid are these posters in this thread? It’s been laid out multiple times why he can’t be traded. How do people continue to chime in with ludicrously bad takes?
