What have you seen Brees do that makes you think he isnt better than those guys. You listen to ESPNS and then make your mind up. Watch some games.

The TD pass he made to Henderson against Detroit was beautiful.

The one to Shockey wasn't bad either where he had a man in his face, runs to left, resets, and hits Shockey on the numbers.

See for yourself who's better (courtesy of footballoutsiders.com):
Quarterbacks 2006
Quarterbacks 2007
Quarterbacks 2008
I realize Tom Brady didn't play in 2008 due to injury, but it's important to note Drew Brees's numbers in that year because they were so good. Measure that against Tom Brady's career numbers and you get a picture of how they would have compared last year.
READ THE HEADING ON THOSE PAGES ABOUT THE STATISTICS. These stats are great ways to measure a player's value.

A question for Saints fans
"I'm expecting to here Brady and Manning over and over again. Instead I here Brees Brees Brees."
- You're expecting to hear Brady and Manning IN NEW ORLEANS ? ON A SAINTS BOARD? What would the forums in Beantown say? Brees ?????
"Their argument is the yards he threw for last year and how good he looked against Detroit."
- No. That's your made-up argument. Our argument is simple. Brees led a group of no-names to within 2 quarters of the Super Bowl in his first year.
Since then, the defense has steadily gone down (until now hopefully); and we had abysmal play-calling by the coaches (how is that Brees' fault) at the most INOPPORTUNE moments last year, plus breakdowns by the defense at the WORST times. To wit: Washington, Denver, Carolina, Chicago, Tampa Bay. All of those SHOULD have been victories.
Fact: Brees does not play defense. I would think he would be on the sidelines trying to talk Payton into calling different plays on 3rd and short and 4th and short.
Fact: Brees doesn't hand off on purpose to the wrong type back for 4th and 1 and 4th and 2 situations at the most crucial point in games.
That's Payton's call.

Let's ask a different question. At this point in his career is Drew Brees a Hall of Famer?
I think both Brady and Manning would get into the Hall of Fame if they were to retire at the end of this season. I am not so sure about Brees. If Brees leads New Orleans to a Super Bowl victory then I think he would make it.

Hall of Fame doesn't really matter for this argument. Right now Tomlinson is a HOFer and Peterson isn't, but I'd much rather take Peterson.
As far as who I would take out of Brees, Manning, and Brady, I think it would depend on the offense. I'd probably take Brees or Manning in most situations.

i would of taken brady or manning over brees two years ago.. but not definitely not today.. brees is emerging into his own and above these two in today's game.

I take Brees over Brady and Manning. While they are all great passers, I love the fact that Brees gets the ball to the open guy so quickly and doesn't take a ton of hits.
Brady is coming off major knee surgery. We don't know how he will be long term. An example of this is Carson Palmer. I think when he came back, his mechanics weren't what they were before the knee injury and he hurt his elbow because of it.
Another fact that is in Brees' favor is that he is the youngest of the 3.
Oh yeah, Brees can walk on Lake Ponchatrain and he eats lightning and craps thunder.

I believe.....the difference between us and them is that they have a better owner who does what needs to be done and an overall better team but we are catching up. Benson is finally being a better owner.......You could put in a few different qb's there in new england and have 4 rings......Brees is the man!

I think Peyton is better than Brady, if anybody gives a shite

SB Rings are not the best measure of QB's.
Hell, Eli has as many as Peyton. Does that make them equal QB's?

I was just about to say that I'd take Manning over Brady right now.
That being said, Drew Brees is the best quarterback alive. Period.
