My wife fell asleep during the game (she was sick) and I really didn't want to wake her up.
I've never been more silently angry and sad in my life lol

Saints had one of the most heart breaking and enduring runs over a 12 year span post super bowl win. jesus. frick me with a stake.

The only losses a Super Bowl-winning franchise has suffered that are worse are the 1990 NFCCG and Super Bowl XLII, and that's because it caused the losing teams to barely miss out on a historically unprecedented achievement.

Easily the worst loss in Saints history. Cost us more than just a Super Bowl trip.
They Offensive play calling that series was terrible.

There were multiple opportunities to win that game that makes me know we were the better team, but I fricking hate that people use that fricking excuse. We played within the fricking rules to win the game. Drew found an open wr and he got fricking interfered with and p.i'd. It's a clear as day call and we can run the clock out and kick a chip shot fg to win. It's fricking bull shite to say well we had other fricking opportunities when we we're robbed of actually taking advantage of an opportunity like that no call play.

Don't forget overtime, I think Dante Fowler hitting Brees in the head during that inception.
Yet no penalty for roughing the passer to negate that interception?
Then the news that NFL personnel had to change the hotel stay for the officials for security reasons.
I always figured the NFL fixed games, but that pretty much confirmed it. All for ratings

Also, I think there was blatant pi on that play as well. Just a complete folly of missed calls.

I wish Drew Brees had retired and CSP had resigned citing the no call and 4 Southern California refs following the Rams game during the week of the Superbowl.
Drew Brees was hit the face and his WR was held for his OT interception.
The refs were not letting the Saints win the game.

Complete and utter bull shite. That team was destined to win the Lombardi. But Goodell and Kroenke wanted that precious Super Bowl for LA. Being a Saints fan was never the same after this. My fandom soul never really recovered.

The Saints always owned the Patriots and Brady. We should have skullfricked them and had Brees ride off into the sunset.

Ah, I remember it well. It ruined my whole week.

God that's still infuriating...especially in an age where they basically throw the pass int flag by default.
remember all the stupid rumors about resuming that game midweek?

I was there. Had season tickets at the time and spent the weekend in NOLA. The whole vibe up until that moment was just perfect. Felt like a coronation. Didn't even consider that we could lose. Was even planning on going to Atlanta for the SB.
When Ginn caught that pass I thought it was in the bag, like it had all just come together perfectly. Then the no call and it's like the franchise has been on a constant downward slide ever since.
The fact that it screwed the best player in franchise history out of a ride off into the sunset moment is what makes it worse. That can never be fixed, even if the Saints win another one. 2019 LSU kinda healed the wounds of 2011. You can't really do that here and it sucks.

I was at the game also. I still say leaving the dome after that was the most eerie silence I’ve been around.
It reminds me of the 2011 national championship. It just broke me. Hopefully we get a 2019 like LSU did to at least cure some of that.
