$16M per year!

I think the Saints will be willing to give AK closer to $10-12M. If another team wants to pay AK $16M, I’m not sure we can match that.

Kamara has not shown nearly the durability and high load factor needed for anything close to that number

Well as good as AK is, he's not the best back in the league so I would hope not.

I’d say it’s debatable McCaffery is the best back. He’s force fed the ball far more than any other RB. He has 80 more targets than Kamara since 2017.

I don’t think we’ll offer AK even close to this. And we shouldn’t, it’s an absurd deal.

Saints would be insane to give AK that. I love Kamara but he isn't close to being worth what McCaffery received.

Christian’s rookie season was slightly off from AK, but has been the better producer since. AK was an average back at best for the final 8 games last year which was odd. We’ve got to see which AK remains this year before paying him anything close to 10mil.

Sean grows RB’s in his backyard garden.

If we can’t pay him I’d wouldn’t accept anything less than 2nd + 4th rounder

I think we have no choice but to trade AK at some point in the future or let him go for nothing.

We will never pay him anything remotely close to that, ever.

How r u outta all ppl going to speak for the Saints??

AK might get a better deal with more guaranteed or more incentives wise.

At the same time, it's a make or Brea year for Kamara tho.

Actually a pretty good deal for the panthers bc he is there entire offense. Saints can produce offense without Kamara. I was getting grilled in the other posts for not wanting to pay Kamara elite running back money. This is what elite running back money looks like.

Kamara was hurt all of last season. Give him an off-season to get healthy and he’ll have another huge year. Kamara is gonna get paid.

Awful deal for the panthers.
You dont pay RB's that money.
Now he will get hurt.
This pretty much guarantees the panthers will continue to be bad.

Regardless they had to pay him. They have no offense without him

Regardless of how good your rb is no rb is worth this. Honestly the first two seasons Kamara and CMC were pretty equal. CMC has a better year especially with Kamara hurt. With that being said we won’t pay a RB that. Why? Cause Payton has never and will never use a every down rb. He uses a rb by committee approach and always has. As crazy as it seems CMC wouldn’t be an every down back here. If the saints were gonna sign AK to an extension it needed to be before this happened. Kamara is gonna want this type of money and honestly anything north of about 11 mill AAV I’d be out. I still think he plays this year as a saint but I can’t see them signing him to this kind of money. And they shouldn’t.

McCaffrey had 403 touches last season. 44% of his teams yards and 51% of their TDs. 326 touches the year before

Kamara hasn’t eclipsed 275 in a season.

Kamara will not be in the same contract tier as CMC

I’m not trying to be a troll but this is what I have been saying all week. The CMC signing really didn’t change anything bc CMC was never going to get less than 16 million a year. It was expected. I just don’t think a running back is worth anything close to that. Now Kamara will probably seek top pay and try to settle a few million under it bc he isn’t an every down guy. I don’t think a running back is worth that. With that being said the panthers really didn’t have a choice bc they desperately needed CMC
