Like I said, Werner has been better than I thought. But he was injured alot last year. Kwon is injury prone though.

That being said, the best inside linebacker in football just got traded for a 2nd. Too bad we in cap hell. Tremendous value.

Last 10 First round picks
1) Olave - Hit
2) Penning - TBD
3) Turner - Sus to start we'll see
4) Ruiz - Sus at first now solid
5) Davenport - Solid (cost an extra first)
6) Lattimore - Home run
7) Ramcyek - Home run
8) Sheldon Rankins - Solid
9) Peat - (Jeff Ireland Hired) Meh but has stuck around
10) Stephone Anthony - (Jeff Ireland Hired) Complete bust

Last 10 2nd round picks
1) Alonte Taylor - Looks good at start
2) Pete Werner - Solid to possbility of Elite in year 3
3) Marcus Williams - Great pick too expensive to keep
4) MT13 - Was a Home Run now can't stay on the field still great pick in round 2 regardless
5) Kihaka - Bust (Jeff Ireland Hired)
6) Stanley Jean Baptist - Perfect name for here complete bust
7) Charles Brown - Bust
8) Tracy Porter - Superbowl hero
9) Roman Harper - Great Pick
10) Josh Bullocks - Bust

One thing is for sure you can see an notable difference once Jeff Ireland was hired.

Werner is 2nd in total tackles to smith. Pff has roquan smith graded at a 50.

I honestly believe werner is underrated. I wouldnteven waste a 2nd on roquan(while also having to pay him) when i have werner on a 2nd round salary for years to come.

This! And it’s why it drives me crazy when ppl want to trade known commodities for draft picks. Why trade a known great player for a pick when that pick has maybe a 30% chance of becoming said great player.

My comment was 100% because of this comment in OP
quote:

guess it pays to have real scouts, rather than message board heroes.

Can’t speak for everyone here, but would love to see the team hit on 100% of their picks. But the reality is, there will be more misses than hits over a period of time. OP was implying that, as fans and not scouts, we are not allowed to have negative opinions of draft picks. Which is why he cherry picked a specific round to tell everyone that isn’t a pro scout they aren’t allowed to have an opinion

You people are obsessed with this team "missing on draft picks" when in reality we nail more draft picks than 90% of teams in the NFL

You are beating your chest about hitting our draft picks when we sit with a 3-5 record? Weird flex but ok.

We are sitting with a 3-5 record because of injuries, penalties and turnovers. All self-inflicted wounds. This last game the team had 27 yds. in penalties, no turnovers with a 1+ turnover ratio and a couple of injured players return ( Taylor and Adebo) that all contributed to a dominant performance. We have a lot of talent on this team due to those successful draft picks. Nothing wrong with pointing that out particularly as long as we keep winning. Lighten up.

The team has questionable coaching and two of their three best players have spent more than half of the played games this season on the injury report. Give me a break with this dumbass take.

I save my tantrums for when we blow a 1st rounder. There are enough of those to go around.

How awesome would it have been if we picked them in the 3rd? all but McCoy would have still been available.

So if we hit on our draft picks then we should have quality depth and not be 3-5. Right?

It is really hard to remain even keel with realistic expectations when on one side you have sunshine pumpers like yourself where I hear “the Saints are the most awesomest drafters ever” and on the other side the chicken littles are saying the sky is falling every second.

Chill out bro. This team and front office has work to do to be a quality playoff team.
